TABU "QUEENS OF CUMBIA" BIOGRAPHY-
The "Queens of Cumbia" or Las Reinas de la Cumbia is what Tabu is lovingly referred to by their fans. Tabu is a 4 Latin girl group composed of four cousins from San Antonio, TX named Mari, Elsa, Yahaira, Yaddira. They have become very hot in the music scene, and have captivated the affection from people of all ages. Their voices are powerful, soothing and possess an angelic essence. In 2004 Tabu was introduced to the world with their debut CD self-titled "TABU," by 2005 they took the U.S. and Latin America by storm. Tabu won the prestigious Univision Award Premios a La Musica Latina for Best New Artist of the Year (Revelacion Del Ano). They were nominated in many other categories for other award shows. Tabu landed a TV station jingle and commercial in honor of Univision's 50th Anniversary. They have appeared on numerous National & International TV shows including Sabado Gigante, Despierta America, Primer Impacto, Escandalo TV, BET Jazz's Viva America show, and many more. Tabu was also a part of the amazing Premios Juventud Awards in Miami. Tabu continued a Coca Cola & Wal-Mart tour throughout 2006, along with a radio and television promotional tour. Tabu has had numerous hit singles, including Cumbia Pa'Que, that remained number 1 for 15 consecutive weeks in their native state of Texas and quickly caught the attention of radio airwaves throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Along followed "Me dice el Corazon" and "Muevete, Muevete, Muevete". Tabu's focus is their drive to share their love for music with the world. Their songs are rhythmic Cumbias and ballads that express their vocal talents. They are passionate about songwriting, singing, and work endless hours on their flawless choreography.
