About Me
Ever since she was 5, Bunny has always either played an instrument or sang in front of people. An accomplished pianist at a very young age, Bunny has won classical piano competitions since she was 12, and has performed with professional singers and concert choirs.
In the advent of today's changing music climate, musicians are now challenged to actually bring "talent" into the equation and make songs that are not only commercially likeable but musically sound and exemplifies great mucisianship, reminiscent of the days of soul. Bunny is an artist who remembers those days and never lost sight of this important time of music.
Today, as a singer, pianist, and composer, music continues to drive Bunny's life. "It's a powerful tool and something that I will never underestimate," states Bunny. Bunny, a nickname that stuck with her through the years, is an appropriate name for her fun-loving personality. "Life is too short to be bogged down by hangups and people who don't believe in the things I believe in. I try to live life the way I want without hurting anyone."
After the end of a marriage which produced 3 beautiful boys, Bunny started to rediscover her creative side. With the help of a friend who taught her digital music composition, she started to write soulful songs that reflected her moods and her life. Among her peers, Bunny is known for her smooth jazzy renditions, stylish flair, and emotion evoking and thought provoking lyrics. With the support of her friends and family, an album was the inevitable evolution to her creative growth.
As a single mother, Bunny doesn't believe in the constraints that society and the music industry places on artists to "make it". She states, "Many people start their music careers at a young age and forgo having a family much later. I simply did the opposite. I chose a family and a career that sustained our family at the time. My boys are the most important thing in the world to me. Now that they are a bit older, I can pursue my passion, my music. My boys actually love my music, and even try to help me with my compositions. I wouldn't have it any other way. Even my ex-husband supports my decision to make music. We remain friends to this day."After graduating from California State University, Bunny made a successful career in Hospital Management, and after 9 years she now makes time for her music. "I've made a lot of friends along the way and have matured and grown through many exciting experiences, but music is more important to me," Bunny states. She now concentrates on manifesting the art and music she has held in all these years to give you an album that reflects her soulful journey and musical beauty.
When asked what type of music Bunny listens too, she states, "I love nu-jazz, neo-soul, soul, hip-hop. As a classical pianist, my songs are sometimes infused with some of my childhood favorites, but mostly, I write songs and listen to songs that make me feel good. When I wrote Wednesday with Coco, I was missing my best friend Coco so much that I had to write a song about it. I wrote Beautiful Man for a man that I fell for sometime in the past. Music is a reflection of my memories, past and present. Music is such a beautiful way to chronicle our lives."
With her childhood classical training, love of jazz and soul, Bunny is ready to share her music with her own brand of smooth soul jazz offerings. At present, she is working to get her debut album set to be released in December. "I'm really jazzed about this project. It is all my passion and my heart into it. I can't wait to share it. In the past, every time I make a decision and put my mind to something, I usually succeed. I can't wait to give my music to the world."Bunny will be donating proceeds from the future debut album to Breast Cancer Research. This is a decision she made being touched by this disease in a very personal way. She adds, "My sister Geraldine has had a courageous bout with breast cancer and thankfully she is cancer free after surgery. I want to make sure that I contribute to the eradication of this disease forever. Things always happen for a reason."
"I am not looking to get signed. I am a professional and don't need to get filthy rich or notoriously famous. Expressing and creating my music is a luxury; an instrument of respite for me. I'm merely here to share and experience. Send me a note; I always welcome networking with a variety of people. Talk to you soon!" - Bunny
Bunny welcomes other artists who are seasoned soul/neo-soul, jazz instrumentalists and/or vocalists for music projects. As a musician, she believes it is important to be able to collaborate and share experiences. Please contact Bunny if you'd like to work on something together.

Jagged edges and bobbing heads
Reverberating, scintillating
Spine, skin now hypervigilant
Anticipating
To receive an impending seduction
mmmm.....
Syncopating heart's cadence...
Can you feel it?
Anger, passion
Subdued and chiseled smooth
By strings in riffs floating effortlessly
Interwoven through measures
Soaring slowly and then faltering
Sprinkled on top of chords of color
Solemn and sweet
The jam is alive
Funky fingers on upright bass
sustaining the beat....
A flat-A flat,
B-flat
Rest
A flat-A flat ,
B-flatRest
Ahhh......
Snares counter-beat, high hats pulsate
The rhythm repeats with horns in harmony
Then climax to a chilling high D
Ooooo.....Ahhhhhh........
Immersed in the sea
Your symphony for me
It lingers, permeates
Tightly bound, enmeshed forever
To soothe my savage beast
Repeat. Fade............
