About Me

This might as well be considered the blog preview. Below I will occasionally add or subtract things that I find interesting. Maybe you'll find out something about me.
Also, hover around an area that has something that interests you. I link some words to related sites. But I don't change the color of the words. The links show up underlined when you hover over them.

So I've been climbing like a fiend lately. I can do muscle-ups again (helps when you lose weight). Life is good.

Also, here is a picture of a bike a lot like mine. I'm lazy and so have a pic of mine but this is real close. Same frame - Soma. Handle bars are similar. Only real difference is that I wrapped my top bar with inner tube to protect it. That's a messenger thing.
So I'm now really into Amy Winehouse.
I really think that the movement is coming back. Old school RnB. The neoSoul era kind of died out but it's coming back. Listen to music of the last few months.
Old News: Artistry and artisanship have been my passion lately. The bass has been a primary focus. I'm learning to speak through it. It's a slow process. It can be very meditative. The goal is to prepare for a performance around my birthday. You gotta have goals.
Then there's crossfit... Crossfit RSS Feed:

Anyone that likes some of the things I do.

Anyone that wants to collaborate on either artwork (technology based or traditional media)- or wants to collaborate on a computer security based project. Also, fitness minded people or people that want to discuss fitness theory. Anyone that doesn't mind disagreeing and discussing it.

People that read. I don't care what but read. People that don't read bewilder me (James: you bewilder me).

    Music:

From time to time I'll add some stuff here. So you can get a sample of my tastes. Generally, it will be stuff I can't find on Myspace music.

Be sure to stop the music above if you want to listen here:

It doesn't sound too good otherwise... or maybe it will. You could come up with your own mashup.

  • Television:

not a tv fan but I do buy dvds of tv series sometimes. Generally, those are sci-fi shows. I own the first two seasons of Battlestar Galactica and the only season of Firefly. I also watch Heroes on the Internet. Generally, I don't watch tv.

    Books:

I've been reading a series in which a friend of mine gets redshirted - The Council Wars by John Ringo. I'm also a William Gibson fan, a George R.R. Martin fan, and a Neil Gaiman fan. I also admire the works of Robert Heinlein, Philip K. Dick, Herman Hesse, Henry Miller, D.T. Suzuki, Takuan Soho, Eiji Yoshikawa, Yagyu Munenori, Tim Burton, Lewis Carroll, Steven Brust, Paul Feyerabend , Thomas Kuhn, and the Brothers Grimm.

You'll notice a lot of sci-fi folks, science folks, and some very old authors in there. I find it is easier to approach the truth when approaching obliquely.

    Heroes:

Peter Westbrook and my aunt Cheryl and amputees that run races and climb mountains (I always say - I run because others can't - if you have the capability use it) and generally anyone who accomplishes something they want against the odds or stands up for their own moral beliefs regardless of popularity. I may not agree with them but I will respect them.
