About Me

"Christine Deady knows how to take a song and give it a good night out, or in" (Jackie Hayden, Hotpress Magazine).
"Christine's hazey stage presence, smokey poetry and husky voice combine to enchant and entrance any audience. Clearly a bright future ahead for this talented songstress" .
John Spillane (Meteor award winner 2003)
Heres for short and sweet, Im Daisy (aka Christine). Im 24, from Skibbereen but living in Dublin. I've been writing music in my head all my life but only in recent years have i come to realize the waste of time in self limiting beliefs and so with pen to paper and lyric to melody ive joined the rat race and here i am, loving it. This is what i want, what im doing and where im going.
Christine is currently recording a single for the upcoming 'POTENTIAL COLLECTION volume2' cd. The album is designed to highlight and showcase up and coming Irish singer songwriters and will be launch in Bruxelles as part of the zodiac sessions later this year so WATCH OUT.............

Influences: Where to start, how do you even know exactly what the things are that influence you, aren't they subliminal...

For me it would probably begin with my brothers and growing up listening to them making music so here goes some of the classics, Brian Deady Colin Deady, Phil Lynott, Sinead Lohan, Paul Brady, Sinead O' Connor, Joni Mitchell, Keats, Sinead Lohan, Christy Moore, Juliet Turner,The Beatles, John Lennon, Tracy Chapman, Bill Withers, Curtis Mayfield, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Natalie Merchant, Tom Waits, The Beach Boys, Ryan Adams, The Cure and of course Elvis...theres too many

....and now for the more recent soul shakers, Abbie Cardwel, Sarah Bates, Jo Costello, Anika Moa, Gemma Hayes, John Spillane, Anthony and the Johnsons, Josh Rouse, Bright Eyes, Ray la Montagne, Declan O Rouke, Belx1, The Guillemots, Bill Colemen, Mick Flannery.... the list just goes on.... I have plenty more influences that i truely think deserve a mention also, like growing up next to the ocean, that was after all the music I fell asleep to for many years, I have a water coloured serong that has hung on every bedroom wall since i left home....Nature, hippysh as it sounds, the outdoors is one of the most inspirational and influential mediums around us, i feel so lucky to have been brought up (or even dragged up) in the country and last but not at all least, my family, its big enough to fill a small counrty (or maybe just louth) but the drive of the human spirit which my family pocesses has never seized to amaze me and humour was the bread and butter that i was reared on.
