About Me

Hailing from Orange County California a land built upon oil fields and orange groves the punk rock group The Politicians built their musical landscape upon their mutual love of punk rock and classic rock and roll music. Forming in 2002 by singer Andy Wilker and guitarist Pete Diederich, the duo struck out to create music that reflected the true spirit of punk’s origins with creative lyrics that would not be watered down in a modern age. The band’s stripped down guitar tones are a signature sound that pays homage to music of years past. The group has released three albums to date 2003’s “Good & Dead”, 2005’s “Welcome to the War”, and the recently released “Sunday” in February 2007. The band has shared the stage with such proven acts as Swingin' Utters, Cadillac Tramps, Throw Rag, Smut Peddlers, Pistol Grip, The Generators, Loves Equals Death and Time Again. The group has received airplay on Los Angeles radio station Indie 103.1 and on Rancid Radio with Lars Frederiksen. With write ups in Skratch Magazine (4/05, 1/06, 2/06), Big Wheel (2/06, 1/07), Paradigm, and more attesting to the bands explosive stage performance and infectious sing a long melodies the only other proof lies in witnessing it live. The group has toured extensively over the last two years with three west coast tours in 2005 and a U.S. tour in 2006. Now with the release of their third album the band will be hitting the road again this summer with both a US and European tour. If you like the spirit of '77, the Clash, Stiff Little Fingers or the Pogues then don't miss The Politicians.
