About Me

VISUAL EXPRESSION
Some people split their artistic side from their person, but as far as im concerned; I am it all, what one side of me is the other is also that (probably just slightly more twisted). So it would be rather pointless.
Born in the city, but was thankfully taken away into the country. So ive lived both sides. Now I reside in a small country town but make a habit of staying in the urban places for longer periods of time. Simply out of emotion for the rushing everywhere. You can never get enough of going to much, to fast and way tooo all over the place for pointless reasoning.
All ive ever wanted to do was be an artist.
I have one vivid memory of being in primary school and being told to draw a picture of what ever we'd like to be when we grew up. People drew stick firemen, and police men with no arms, and even teachers that looked like heads with boxes. But i drew a sausage person, fingers and all, painting on an easel.
Now there is some passion for you.
Sure I've changed my mind many times throughout this short space of time I've lived on this planet. From wanting to be an accountant, lawyer, writer, film maker, actor, musician, animator.
But really deep down I know my basis for everything i do and will build apon is that I AM AN ARTIST.

Sitting through economics class drawing, you sort of realise your not going to be able to sit 9-5 doing bookwork with numbers.
Sure I have goals to make a film, to write a book. But Art is my first love. The only love I'd die doing.
Im basically a traditionalist, liking to work with my hands. Using basically anything that makes a mark; pencils, paints, charcoal. I have now also partaken in the amazing truck load of digital.
Some people will be artistic for money, for the like of doing it and even for the escape it brings. I do it for the emotional release. Perhaps thats why people find that my work has a certain element of strength, yearning and want. For the world knows no artist is an artist for alot of money, if its art from the heart, it doesnt reap the rewards till your dead.
But with all art its all up to the viewers perception, its not me who decides the end reaction to a work. Its you out there looking in on something im trying to show, even if the meaning I try to push is lost and you see something different.
If i get a reaction to the creation, I'm a happy artist.
With pencil and paper in hand i can take on this world.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Other artists that can improve me, or share a common artistic element.

Those who wish to share my art around, or help me create more.

People who wanna help me create master pieces on the big screen or are willing to co-join talents in a massively huge way.

Or simply Anyone with a soul to share.

Music:

The music tastes are vast.
Anything with a beat that gets the juices flowing is all fine by me.

Movies:

Major film fan, the artistic merit of films to me are huge.
Every film is watchable, though much that comes out nowadays isnt that good if you match them up with the likes of 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly'.
Quentin Tarantino is a major influence on me. His movies are so simple at first glance but underneath anything that looks so simple is a mess of intertwined meanings and plots, much like life.
Many would say his movies are violent rubbish, and these people are the same as the ones that dont look hard enough. But these movies are more of a violent romance movie, everything is romanticised.
Much like this romantic love of films I have.

Television:

Personally I dont have time for television.
And the amount of garbage that inhibits this word, its best to avoid it totally. There is much better things to do than to be brain washed by a box.

Books:

Everyone should pick up a book.
Atleast once a day,
have it sitting there waiting to be picked up and read,
even if its just a line or two.

Inspired by those who can actually sit down and write books for one, ive tried a few times and never get past about 40k words, and thats not a book in my mind.

Heroes:

I'm Renaming this section to Inspirations
-Brett Whiteley, an artistic inspiration. His style is Living the typical life of an artist, where they dont get the reward of their lifes work till they are long gone. Its sad in that way.

"Art is the thrilling spark that beats death.. thats all." Brett Whiteley
-Quentin Tarantino, a man that went from working in a movie store to doing something he loves. You have to appreciate someone who does everything in his power to do what brings joy to ones spirit.
"uncomfortable silences, why do we feel its necessary to yack about bullshit in order to be comfortable
*I Dont Know*
Thats when you know you've found someone really special, when you can just shut the fuck up for a moment and comfortably share the silence."

-Bon Scott, someone who lived how he percieved his world to be. He was probably alot of things but one i can see is that he was passionate about his music, nothing like passion to drive you to an early grave.

Talent Vs Hard Work

So many times I have heard "Wow your so talented" or the ever popular "I wish I had your talent" There is something definitly wrong here.  At what point do we stop just doing something good...
