Ruben V fans

INTRODUCING -- RUBEN V FAN -- JESSICAJessica lives in Pittsburgh with her wonderful husband and her soon to arrive daughter Felicity. She comes all the way here to SA a couple of times a year - just to see Ruben V play (and visit her family) I asked her to write something about Ruben and this is what she most graciously sent for us..I have known Ruben since September 1997. I met him when I was performing at the Joesphine Theater. (He also did theater back in the day. :) ) We only worked in two productions together - the first one being "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", where Ruben played the “Elvis” Pharaoh (he plays an awesome Elvis!), and the other being Alice, in Alice. Ruben and his band played on stage for the music score.At that time it was the V3 with Kevin Hernandez on drums and Val Cronk on Bass Guitar. Those two productions were so much fun. Ruben has always been a big ham, friendly, outgoing, and with a genuinely kind spirit.It was after getting to know him through the theater that I began going to his shows, and of course, became a huge fan of his musical talent. I got his first CD that year, ‘In His Hands’, and had him autograph it for me....I still have it. I now of course have all his CDs, but his first one is very special to me still.My favorite memory of a V show during that time was New Years Eve 1997. There was a special production of Alice held at the Majestic Theatre. After the production, Ruben and the band had a New Years Eve gig in an outside stage downtown, and we all raced to go watch him and the boys play. They were awesome, they totally rocked the night and it was a great way to start off the New Year!Ruben has grown musically, and he constantly surrounds himself with great musicians. Ruben is still the gracious, humble, God fearing, fun loving person that he has always been.Ruben has always gone out of his way to make all his fans feel like part of his family, and that is one of the many reasons I believe he is so dearly loved by all that know him - as friend and rockstar.I have a very hard time picking a favorite V song, as Ruben has a song to fit every one of my moods, but I would say I truly love Be My Heaven, just because the moment I heard it I thought it was the perfect love song, and I still do to this day.THANKS JESSICA FOR SHARING YOUR V HISTORY!!
