My daughters bring me more laughter and joy than anything else in the world. I'm liberal but old fashioned. I believe in kindness, compassion, forgiveness, generosity, and acceptance above all. I never want to stop learning. I don’t apologize for who I am or what I believe. I like cold coffee and warm soda and mixing ketchup in my mustard. I'm interested in most things old, including but not limited to photographs, music, books, handkerchiefs, boots, furniture, and folks. I am fairly simple, and make-up is not a daily essential. Variety is a necessity. I smell of everything before I eat it, and the way people smell often influences how I feel about them. Honesty is imperative, even when it isn't pretty. Charming and charismatic people kind of frighten me. Sometimes I say too much about the wrong things and not enough about the right things, but I prefer to listen. I love words and reading aloud. Outwardly calm, inner chaos. I'm a country girl stuck in the city. And I always wear my jeans twice before I wash them.
