About Me
*In February 1997, Zaray (bass/background vocals), met Jessica (lead vocalist/guitar/piano) through a mutual friend. Initially they start playing with a male drummer in Ojeda City, Zulia State in Venezuela. Of the three, they shared the same music influences and looked forward to sharing a musical career together as a band. This lasted for approximately one year, as the drummer decided to part his own way.*Between the years of 1998 and the year 2000, Still Life would go through 3 different male drummers and a 2nd male guitar player. Still Life began to receive recognition for their authentic musical sound throughout their city in Venezuela. They would perform in clubs, private parties, and different festivals. During this time, they received 2nd place at the Costa Oriental del Lago (C.O.L.) Festival. Their success would be engraved in their hearts which would leave them striving for even greater success!*In October of 2001, the last male drummer parts his own way, and Anais Atencio becomes the definitive drummer for the band!*In May of 2002, Still Life records their first demo called “Book of Tears.†This included 5 songs which are: I do, Sleeping Alone, Fugaz, The Violinist’s Coffin, and Soul's Imperfection.*During the years of 2003-2005, Still Life would continue to write more songs. The response from their fans was tremendous!! This would lead them to their first national tour in Venezuela’s main cities of Caracas, Valencia, Maracay, Barquisimeto, Merida, Acarigua, El Vigia, Maturin, Cabimas, Maracaibo, Ciudad Ojeda and Bachaquero. They promoted their music throughout each city’s radio and TV stations. This opened up new doors for the eclectic trio. They were asked to play in festivals all over Venezuela, some of which included: The New Bands Festival (which is considered to be the most prominent festival in all of Venezuela), The Rocksound Festival in Merida, and The Rock Show Festival in Maracaibo. The Rock Show Festival consisted of an audience of 3,000 people, which was played alongside other prominent Venezuelan rock bands. This allowed Still Life to soar to new interesting heights!!*In 2006, Still Life takes a break due to political circumstances.*At the beginning of 2007 the band moved to Miami, Florida in hopes of attracting a world audience! They have since relocated to the Tampa Bay area. Still Life is currently working on new material and hope to record their first album shortly. As of now, they are rehearsing and booking gigs in and around Tampa, but will soon tour all over the state of Florida! Look out for them….. because they ARE COMING!!!Jacqueline Klotz..
