From a very early age Leon started playing drums and akoustic guitar. Later on, when he was twelve years old, he also started to play electric guitar, with Ritchie Blackmore as his biggest inspiration. Electric guitar became his main instrument, although he kept on playing drums as well. It wasn’t a big surprise that he (as a guitar player) founded hard rock/heavy metal band BURN at the age of sixteen, to provide the sound of this genre: the double twin guitar parts, classic and shredding solo’s as well as heavy riffs.
Combining many inspirations, Leon tried to create his own sound. He writes his own music and co-writes all the songs in BURN. In 2006, BURN recorded a single at Leon’s home studio, on which he performed as a guitar player, drummer and producer/engineer in one. He did the same thing for his own demo, called ‘Changing Seasons’.
Over the years Leon played in different bands, with different musicians and he also joined projects, like bands for musicals. Leon is currently studying at the Rock Academy in Tilburg, where he is working on his carreer.
