It all started when Day After Life broke up and Ramon van Laatum still had a lot of ideas for insane songs. Not long after the split-up he began to write new stuff and saved it on his computer, not sure what to do with it. And then…..
From there on it went fast, Ramon talked to Wouter Troost and asked for his opinion on the songs. Wouter was very enthusiast and said that something had to happen very quickly. Meanwhile Ruben van Berchum and Floyd Ketelaar also heard the stuff Ramon had written. A new band born….?
They decided to give it a go and started rehearsing in mid February 2007 under the name HateVision. The line-up was as follows: Ramon van Laatum-Lead Guitar, Floyd Ketelaar-Rythm Guitar, Ruben van Berchum-Drum en Wouter Troost-Vocals. Soon it was obvious that this match of musicians was perfect. It almost seemed like the songs wrote themselves with all-time favourites like Key To Nothing and Without Fear. The set-list was completed and Patrick Batenburg was added to the line-up as Bassist. Not long after that HateVision was turned into Solitary Fall and from there on things got a lot more serious.
After just rehearsing a couple of times, the first gig was planned with the Italian band To Kill. They received a lot of positive reactions and the motivation of going on with the band kept rising. Soon SF left their mark on Zuid-Holland .
After a couple of months of rehearsing and playing shows they decided to write themselves in for the Metalbash. They didn’t win this competition but they were the favourite band of the crowd.
With a new and stronger line-up they recorded two songs which you can listen at our myspace and more songs are being recorded soon. SF is a mixture of all sort of styles and we don’t like to label ourselves but if it has to be said Melodic Deathcore comes close to what we produce. SF is not a one-day fly, we know what we want and we know what want to achieve. So remember the name and we will see you soon!
