Allens Blurbs: About Me

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends . . . so glad you could attend, come inside come inside . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
My wife says I'm nothing but an eccentric. Guess I just like being different...and hyper... ADHD baby! .... I suppose I could definitely be called a man of eclectic tastes. I'm just your average everday working joe...attending the college of life. They call me the "customer service expert". My customer is my paycheck and I aim to please "Good afternoon folks...Welcome to the ROLLERDOME!!"
An old fart Army horse....
always a patriot to the core , service to my country has been in my blood probably from my early Cub Scout days. A serving member of the Army, National Guard and Army Reserves for 25 yrs, my most rewarding experiences have come out of this service. Through the years I've met many extraordinary people who have enriched my life greatly. Though I guess I have to admit that the current political climate and state of world affairs has left me with a bit of disillusionment...but always a positive track person, I do believe wrongs will be righted and things will get better.
An animal lover...sometimes I almost prefer them
over people--no BS involved!!... And seems they prefer
me. My cat drives me NUTS!! I can't make a move without without him stuck on me like static cling. My life would not exist without my beautiful wife...she has always been my reason to keep going every day. Through her I figured out how to really love and feel...and just how good living a
simple life is.

My Interests

A big
guitar buff, I've been playing for 30+ years. I can play a riff here and there, but have become quite rusty. I like to draw, but am by no means any kind of artist, just a fun pastime.

I like to collect old interesting currency & coins, postcards, stamps, and old iconography. It's a great day when my wife and I can get out and check out antique stores, this is one of our favorite pastimes. Love to eat out in old cafe's and diners. Aviation and nose art Vargas is another biggie...
a lost art.

love to watch shows about aviation or bury myself in a book on aircraft. I love to just sit at the airfield and watch the birds take off. I like holidays, Halloween has always been a blast for us, we've come up with some great costumes over the years...it's a day to indulge my wild side. Of course vacations, the ocean, the mountains, wherever...no phones, no mail, just me and her with the mad world gone away. My wife's home cooking!! Especially her fried chicken and cheeseburgers!! BEER!!!!

Gooood Eeeevening . . . . . . . . .

Ask the ball:

I'd like to meet:

Common sense thinkers who care about this country and about what's right. And who aren't afraid to stand up against what's wrong. That's what we as serving members of the Armed Forces fight for--remember it.

I'm just here to have a some lighthearted fun. Maybe meet some like minded thinkers and learn something new.

One thing I'm definitely NOT here for is propositions...if that's how you come at me I will not repond to you!

No, I'm not a hacker, no worries ... only YOU see this sign

FDR ~"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself"

~1980 At the beginning of my career in the US Army stationed in Heilbronn West Germany, I was fortunate and proud to serve with one of the Army's elite nuclear forces, the Pershing Missle 56th Artillery Brigade.

While my unit was stationed in W. Germany CBS news did a story on the forces in Europe working with the Pershing Missle. The articles below are part of that story.
Three Decades of Pershing Missle
As cold war soldiers, we stood as a deterant in the defense of our nation and the free world. Our motto: QRA ~Quick, Reliable and Accurate, and Performance Above All. Being a crew member standing ready 24/7 at the controls of possibly launching a 60 megaton nuclear missle.....
knowing the possibility you could be part of releasing this kind of destructive power upon mankind was needless to say a heavy experience for a young 19 year old private. It was called "the green dick on wheels"...if it were launched "you're fucked". I've remained forever grateful that we were never put to that terrible task. The partricular weapon system I worked with was part of the SALT II treaty talks. It was disbanded in the late eighties. And I am extremely proud to be part of a relatively small group of soldiers "the Pershing Professionals" to have worked with this one of kind weapon system.
