In 1996, Marie decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a gospel recording artist. Marie has sung backup for some well known Gospel Artist such as: Tramaine Hawkins (Marie's Mentor), Cissy Houston, Melba Moore, Vicky Winans, etc.Marie debut project showed her ability to write wonderful lyric, in addition she sang all lead vocals and back ground vocals on the album. Since the release of her debut album entitled, "Rise and Live," Marie has been featured in various concerts with some of Gospel greats such as: Trinity 5:7, Hezekiah Walker, Tonex, Rance Allen, etc.2005, Marie displayed her unique style and talent in her returning leading role of "The Witness", in the Gospel Musical, "Your Arms Too Short To Box with God." Marie was given a leading role in the Gospel Musical, Gospitality, produced by A. Curtis Farrow. She won the heart of many after radio stations began playing the title cut of her debut album, "Rise and Live," in rotation. In 2004, Marie Della Thomas launched the Rise and Live America Tour. Starting in her hometown of New York City, Marie is performing at local churches, schools, nursing homes and now across the country."The vision God has given me is to be a blessing to Gods people with the gift of song he has given to me."Marie wants everyone that listens to her music to know that it's all about Jesus and his love for us all!
