Ebay Sellers Unite (UK) has been set up in order to unite together Ebay sellers in the UK. This is not just for Powersellers, but is available to all regular sellers who wish to voice an individual opinion and who are open to being part of a collective.
As an Ebay Powerseller myself (which, as any Powerseller will tell you - doesn't really mean that much!), it has become clear that sellers are entirely at the mercy of Ebay with regard to ever increasing fees & new policies that are harmful to our businesses.
There is currently no such organisation in the UK, that is prepared to lobby Ebay on behalf of and for the welfare of all sellers.
Please note that the setting up of this association is entirely voluntary. There are 2 founding members & I work giving legal advice as well as having a thriving Ebay business - so I am quite busy!!
If enough sellers on MySpace show an interest in this organisation then the founding members would be prepared to cover the costs for a website with a forum and the ability to take on-line polls etc. We are also willing to communicate with Ebay at least once a month to give feedback from our members on issues that are concerning them. The more members we have - The more Ebay will listen to us!
I will not be giving free legal advice to members - but my background will certainly help when it comes to lobbying Ebay about matters that concern sellers.
This organisation has only, literally, just been set up, and as with all collectives - it is only as strong as it's membership & how involved they are. So please, join today by adding us to your friends & sending a quick message to any UK Ebay sellers on your friends list!!
A note on UNIONS: Ebay Sellers are self-employed and therefore do not come under any legal definition as stated in the Trade Union Employment Statutory Acts. This organisation is a collective union (like credit unions etc..) or a non-profit professional association - however you would like to define it - but there can never be a legal **Trade** Union for Ebay sellers as we are not **employed** by Ebay
