Formed in 1999 Speedking undertook a mission to bring classic Heavy Metal/Hardrock-tunes to a new standard and create a rock´n´rollmeltdown based on the long-winningconcept of "tunes-you-have-heard-together-before" and "Fuck!-I-didn´t-knew-you-could-put-those-tunes-together-THA
T-way!"
Briefly speaking: a rockact no-one with the slightest interest in rockmusic could deny!
To celebrate this decade-after-decade winning concept Speedking decided to write some songs in the same school but with the fresh energy brought to the stage by new bands on the scene, as well with their own personal touch.
The result was the Ep “In My Blood†released 2000 on Zorch productions and contained five tracks along with their first demotrack “Riding High†as a bonus. With it´s explosive energy, it´s big balls and clichés with tounge in cheek it shortly became one of the most appreciated records at every true rock´n´rollparty in town.
In 2001 two of the original members Fredrik Jansson and Anders Fransson left the band due to other projects and Peter Helmersson and Per Widell joined the band after one intense weekend of auditions.
From 1999 until 2004 Speedking played several gigs in the hometown of Örebro as well as in the rest of Sweden and earned a reputation of playing one of the best highenergyfuckin´rock´n´roll with the glint of an eye around.
In november 2003 Speedking got up on stage at Contan, Örebro. It was to be the last gig in months and turned out to be one of the best shows ever, and everything looked like an open highway to hell!
However; after a long break, from the end of 2003 and beginning of 2004 due to several personal circumstances and a tough decision Speedking was put to sleep (or put on ice; none of the members actually got the grip of which) and the members kept on tumbling down the rock´n´rollpath in other projects or businesses.
Before the big freeze Speedking recorded six new tracks in the rehearsal which was supposed to be included in the new album but it was never taken to the studio.
Now, three years later, in a strange rock´n´rollattack somewhere in the heart-area Speedking decided that it was time to get the old beast shaking!
The first three tracks, “In my Bloodâ€, Speedkings Around†and “Time to Splitâ€, on this page is taken from the Ep “In my Blood†from 2000 and the song “Riding High†is from a split-single which was released in 1999, and is also included as a bonustrack on “In my Bloodâ€.
