About Me
Ricky was born in a little city up north Barcelona, called Manlleu. His first contact with the music, was playing drums in a punk-ska-reggae band, when he was 16 years old. After discovering the reggae music, his life made a turn. Getting his first turntables when he was 18 years old, he started collecting reggae vinyls, and started to mix reggae and dancehall. One year later, he started a sound with his friends from Manlleu, Miky, Arimanyjah and Sir.Loko selektah. The sound was called Humity Ites sound. When he was 19, he moved to Barcelona and started playing drums again with a reggae band called The Amphitrions. In that band, he met a reggae freestyler called Dreadgar, from Barcelona. After that, he became part of Humity Ites too. After one year playing together, Humity Ites moved to Barcelona and Ricky started again to play drums with a band called Urban Roots, and installed all the soundsystem in the U-roots studio. In 2007 Humity Ites went to Austria to make some shows there, and they met the people from High Light Sound, an upcoming sound outta Freetown. He decided to stop the Humity Ites project, and became part of High Light International Sound.
He has shared stage with artists as Malijah, 3gga,Hermano ele, Carlton livingston, Nano Bravo, Supa Bassie, Queen Smiley, Spruddy One, Prince Osito, SwanBwoy, Mono & Nikitaman, Kinetikal, Dreaddy C, Rudeman (Bologna), Chalart 58, Zergiote, Mochiman, King-der, and more, and also with sounds as Golden Bass, Dirty Ragga Squad, Soul Stereo, FireWarriors sound, Kiki sound, One blood sound, Reggaeland, HighSession, LuvMessenger, Stereotone sound,Nyahbingi sound, GoodVibration sound, Shangrilla sound, Baba sound, Rebel Lion sound, UniFyah sound, Raggatack sound, Urtica sound, Kathmandu sound (at), SupahCannabinol sound,...
Right now, he is making reggae riddims, collecting 45", playing drums with urban roots, promoting reggae party's and spreading higher vibz with High Light International Sound. His functions in the sound are selector and deejay.
