Can you hear from down there?

About Me

I moved to London in order to play drums. I started jamming in the pubs of SoHo in 2004, first song ever: a punchy version of Whole Lotta Love (it could have been all over the place but at least it wasn't some boring blues standard). I went on playing with an obscure folky rock band called the Smotherlove and together we wrote some wonderful songs that unfortunately mankind will hardly get to know, since we never recorded them properly. I was still checking the ads in Denmark Street to see if any bands in London needed an injection of garage in their lives (but the youngsters here seem to rather incline towards fuckin' indie). And I found The November Five: nice lads, cool band, rock heavily influenced by the sound of Manchester. Together we'd been playing memorable gigs in London and Manchester for almost two years (they still carry on, and the demo we recorded together won the Sound of London competition on Xfm last January) but that experience came to an end beacause of a difference of opinion on what rock'n'roll really is like. At the beginning of 2008 I co-founded The Shrouds (which I would have named differently) and collaborated with the Mhm Deranged of the former Sigue Sigue Sputnik drummer Ray. Now I'm into a new project which Duncan the skilled guitarist from Bath suggests to call The Quick And The Dead (god, people's tastes can be murky). I'm pleased with its pulsating rythmic session. New songs to be uploaded soon...
