Mastitis is formed by 'The Znolf' (guitar), 'Menno' (Guitar), 'The Freak' (Bass)
Vocals), '00-Zero' (Drums) and 'The Evil Red Bastard' (Vocals).
'The Freak', '00-Zero' and 'The Znolf' played together in hardcore/metal
sensation Frontside from 1996 to 2000. Before this, 'The Freak' played Bass in
hardcore band ‘Come of Age’, '00-Zero' played in hardcore band ‘Torment of
Ignorance’ and 'The Znolf' played Guitar in death metal band ‘Myositos’.
'The Znolf', 'Menno' and 'The Evil Red Bastard' knew each other from their High
School and played in the Grindcore band ‘PUS’ for about five hours.
'Menno' went to Los Angeles in 1997 and studied BIT at the MI in Hollywood, CA for
a year. He came back to Holland for a ‘short’ period in 2001. 'Menno' met 'The
Evil Red Bastard' in a bar in Amsterdam after not seeing him for about 7 years
and they decided, together with their friends 'The Znolf', 'The Freak' and
'00-Zero', to form MASTITIS in februari 2002.
At first Mastitis started out as a just for fun ‘hung-over’ sunday afternoon jam
session. But after a few months Mastitis decided this was not enough and they
got more serious in making songs and this resulted in the recording of the 9
track promo CD ‘Damnadorum Multitudo’ that was recorded in the Sandwijck
Studio’s in November 2002 in a 24 hour recording session.
