Yung A was born July 31st, 1989. Raised in the tough streets off Raleigh, NC, Yung A was exposed to things a person off his age shouldn't have to be. As a youth, being surrounded by an underprivileged environment, Yung A decided to do something better with his life. Being that he had a passion for music, he felt as though his would be his best route.Growing up in a musical environment, Yung A was introduced to music at a young age. Though most of his musically gifted relatives were singers, Yung A decided to undertake in a different genre of music. So, at the tender age of 8, Yung A started to write his own rap songs. Though they may have not been his best songs lyrically, they were the back drop of the work you hear today.Throughout his youth, Yung A encountered many trials and tribulations in his life outside of his music. Living through this, Yung A found music to be his escape from the hardships he faced. Writing down his life experiences lyrically help him deal with his environment better. As he matured into a man, Yung A's lyrical ability improved, allowing him to make music that more people would love and to let people know about him.Yung A really started to put his passion for music to the test by the age of 16. It was then he wrote over three albums worth of material, none of which he recorded. So by the age of 17, he encountered others who shared his passion for music and taught him how 2 record songs on his own. In doing so, he started his own label, put his songs on Myspace.com, and now will continue to put his passion to the test.
