CARLOS LAMAR was born in Barcelona and lives in Ibiza. Carlos has been a music selector and producer since 1990. He is at present owner of the label FUNKDANGO MUSIC RECORDINGS and PRODUCER of PACHA RECORDINGS. He is also a partner-collaborator of Soldiers association and getting ready the official launch at Privilege this summer.He has worked in the main venues and at national and international festivals and shared DJ cabins with producers of the calibre of Freestyle man, Michael Mayer, Profesor Angel Dust, Bret Johnson, Funk d’void, Carl Craig and Steve Bug among others…His sessions evolve in an electronic mode, working a combination of rhythms which take us from electro or the most select minimal house to dance techno house with an elegant and fresh vibe. In addition, his experience of many years allow his sessions to include variations of electro pop classics through house to purist acid styles.He also works under the suedonym Mr. Marker for more eclectic and personalised sessions and productions. HISTORY OF THE LABELThe label “ Funkdango music recordings “ was born under to influence of new electronic trends as well as the current blend of all types of musical concepts. It is trying to bring about a different vision to the musical scene mixing in with clear details of funk electro and break thus bringing a whole new meaning to club electro. The recent transformation in music have laid down the label’s guidelines. Today almost anything goes to create groove on the dancefloors. This is seen in present productions where the fusion of various elements creates rhythms which would have been inconceivable in the past.In it’s production, Funkdango, bases itself on these structural changes, but does not limit itself to only current trends. It brings together the latest electronic sounds, strong baselines and studied background tracks to create an energetic sound on the dancefloor.
