The Phoenix

From the embers of the past the future is born

About Me

The Phoenix is currently dreaming ie the band is no more, but will awaken soon..(relative to the history of the universe, although the probability is soon) An album is in the pipeline which will include 95% of the songs we wrote in college. Watch this space. The Phoenix was formed by Alex Mc Donnell and David O' Driscoll in January of 2007. It would mark their 2nd venture live music, as both musicians had previously established the band "Dust" in September '04. Dust, also consisted of a bassist and Drummer, and played a number of gigs around Dublin and Kildare whilst also recording a demo.
Commitment issues saw the end of both the bassist and drummer, and the band never recovered. Demoralized, Alex and David called it a day in 2006; However, on the basis of the material they had written and recorded, Mc Donnell and O'Driscoll decided to reform the band but under a new moniker which would epitomize the experiences they had gone through. The Phoenix was chosen as the perfect name to encapsulate how they had crashed and burned only to rise from the ashes with a new found determination to make full on bombastic inventive rock music.
Currently The Phoenix is looking for a bassist, drummer and singer to complete the line up. The band is plugging the new demo on the radio and online in the hope of acquiring a record deal.
