About Me

I am married to a wonderful woman named Keren. We have been married since June 12, 1999. We have two dogs, Zena & Pip, and no kids. I'm a Manager for Bed, Bath and Beyond in Portage Michigan but I live in Grand Rapids. I get the pleasure of driving 120 miles a day for work. My wife is a licensed Veterinary Technician and she loves her job. I love music of all kinds, but the Beatles are my favorite band. My parents are Paris and Joan Allen. I discovered the Beatles when I was 16 years old and for the next 2 years I drove my parents nuts playing nothing but Beatles nonstop. I have an older brother named Walter (Wife Denise & niece Eva) who lives in California. A younger brother named Michael (wife Lisa and nephew Ryan) who lives in Lansing Michigan. My younger sister Pamela passed away very suddenly in 1995 about 9 days before her wedding. Needless to say, this has been a very hard thing for my family to overcome. Shortly after my sister passed away my brother Mike and I formed the band Pheenix. We try to spend as much time as we can writing and recording songs and playing them in public at clubs and venues. We current have three CDs, Season In Hell, Up From The Ashes, and Over The Edge. We are currently working on our fourth CD which will be called Tribute. My Interests

My main interest is meeting and getting to know people. That is why I like my job because I come in to contact with different people everyday. My job is never boring because no two people are the same. Each person I meet is going to be a new and unique experience. Everybody is different and that is probably the coolest thing of all. I love playing in a band because it allows me to share my ideas and feeling about myself, people, and the world in general in the songs I write with my brother. In my spare time I like playing video games, hanging out with my family, fishing, golfing, and sometimes lazing around doing absolutely nothing.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet Paul McCartney, Eddie Van Halen, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Sheryl Crow, Muhammad Ali, and Tom Hanks.

Music:

I love all types of music. Rock, pop, jazz, some country, classical, punk, fusion, alternative, and metal. My musical influences are numerous, but to name a few, The Beatles, Dokken, The Doors, Staind, Nirvana, Guns 'N' Roses, The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Led Zeppelin (before they started selling their songs to Cadillac because that pissed me off), The Smithereens, REM, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Van Halen, The Rolling Stones, Robert Cray, Eric Clapton, The Police, Sheryl Crow, and Creed.

Movies:

My favorite movies are the Star Wars movies, Indiana Jones movies, Bruce Lee movies, first two Matrix movies, Batman Movies, Superman 1 & 2 plus the new one, Spiderman Movies, The Warriors, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Street of Fire, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, A Christmas Story, and the Harry Potter Movies My favorite actors are Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, and Tom Hanks My favorite actresses are Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, and Sandra Bullock.

Television:

My favorite TV shows are ER, Boston legal, Stargate and Stargate Atlantis, South Park, Scrubs, Heroes, The Dresdan Files, Cold Case, Medium, Bones, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Lost, and last but certainly not least, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Everyone laughs at the last one but to me that series had some of the best story writing that I have ever seen. The way they went about tackled topics and situations often had me thinking about it for days on end. Loved that show!!!Loved it!!!

Books:

Books I love to read are the Harry Potter series, any Vampire books, and Sci-Fi Books.

Heroes:

My Heroes are Martin Luther King JR., Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, my Wife, my Family, my Friends, and anyone that stands up for what is right no matter the cost.
