About Me

Growing up it was the obvious liking of any Eurovision Song Contest tune, anything Abba and the painted guys in Kiss were huge. Yet, there was more to it; At the age of ten (we're talking 1978) I was totally fascinated with Mike Oldfields Ommadawn. I also remember my uncle bringing Jean Michel Jarre's Equinox. That album is still one of my favourites./The eighties was splendid. The pink and mint clothes, the torn jeans, the big hair (I actually once had hair...), and not forgetting the introduction of MTV. Pat Sharp was the man! Best of all; The music. OMD's Enola Gay, Gary Numans Cars and Are friends Electric, A Flock Of Seagulls' I ran, Depeche Mode's Puppets, Blancemange's Blind Vision, Icehouse's Hey little girl... The list is endless and these songs still remains favourites./In the nineties I was very into prog music - the obvious Pink Floyd, Genesis, Camel, Marillion but also "less known" Pendragon, Arena and a lot of other acts. In the late ninenties i discovered trance. Ferry Corsten, Vincent De Moor, Armin van Buuren, LSG, Lange, Pulser, Thrillseekers, Tilt, Matt Darey and many others./In february 2005 I recorded my first song. I remember crying when I finished that tune. I had been up all night, and listening to the finished result I was certain it was a hit. Off course I was wrong - it was crap!/I keep on recording, and things might still turn out crap - but hopefully I'm getting better at it. Time has a way of dealing with everything.../I'll keep on posting songs - like it or not. Please take time to listen, and be certain that any kind of feedback will be appreciated.

My Interests

Music:

Influences: Anything 80's really; Ultravox, O.M.D., Depeche Mode, Alphaville, Simple Minds, Pet Shop Boys, Howard Jones, Duran Duran, The Fixx, Japan, Roxy Music, Erasure, Icehouse and the whole New Romantics scene. And off course anything produced by Michel Cretu and Rupert Hine. I have always loved the sounds of pure electronic music, such as Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Yello. The proggers; Pink Floyd, Genesis, Marillion, Pendragon and off course the eminent Mike Oldfield. It would be unfair not to mention Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Lange and Paul van Dyk. The sounds those guys produce are outstanding! Favourite albums come in threes; Blue Highway by Tony Carey, Reckless by Bryan Adams and maybe the best of them all; the splendid Sea of love by The Adventures. In Norway we have some real outstanding artists such as a-ha, Kurt Nilsen, Espen Lind, Lorraine, Lukas Kasha, Marit Larsen, Røyksopp and lots more... Last but not least; Coldplay and Keane. Great stuff!
Sounds Like: Well, probably kind of eighties, yet with a twist of both 90's and 00's. Listen carefully and you'll even find hints of both prog and trance in there. Either way, take a listen and make up your own opinion...

Blue

Sigh... The completion of an album seems almost an impossible task. I have plenty of tracks - the challenge is to make the final result sound like 12 songs from the same album. Production-wise the son...

Busy Times

I've been quite busy lately and unfortunately haven't had the time to work on my "musical escapades". In a long term I am working on completing an "album." Hopefully there will be 12 songs i...

Say A Prayer

This is kind of sidestepping the formula as the song is moving away from the pure synthetic scene. I must admit some "unbragging" satisfaction with the lyrics, which is not po...

Time To Turn

Ahhhhh- with a little help from my friends... Thanks to everyone for giving me feedback, opinions and useful hints along the way. As "critisism" - constructive or not - always is kind of hard to face ...

No Love Left

And what was I was saying? Less time in the studio? Well, although it's supposed to be summer - it's been raining for quite some time in Oslo... Being indoors, there's no escaping some late night...

Summer

Finally - it's here. That sweet, hot and beautiful summer - my favourite time of the year. During these "lazy" days it's better to be outside than inside in front of a PC. Therefor I'm taking some tim...

Let me in

Being away at the cottage the whole weekend was wonderful. We had a great time together with friends and family. I also had some time away from both the computer and my synths - obviously that did som...

Where Do I Go From Here

This song has been in the "mastering - process" for quite a while. I've always loved this song but the drums did sound week. I tried to layer it, groovequantize it, fatten it - but never got it to sit...

A change is gonna come

A known frase, that one... But there's been a change. Some of the posted material has been removed because it was heading in a far more rock oriented area. The "To Be None" monicker was always intende...

We Are Machine

I've had my V-synth XT for some months now, but just discovered how much fun a vocoder is. This is the result...  My wife described it as somewhat schizophrenic - electronics blended with "heavy"...
