What can we say about this band? Other than it features three of Britain's most prominent and talented rock 'n' roll musicians, whose individual musical histories take in the best British garage, surf, trash, punk and beat bands of the last 20 years.The band is led by Sir Bald Diddley aka Hipbone Slim aka The Bald Bomber, who has been a leading world force in the field of surf and rock 'n' roll instrumentals for a decade or more. Currently, he also fronts an array of wierd and wonderful combos including 'The Snags' , ‘The Nine Ton Peanut Smugglers’, ‘Louie and the Louies’, ' Sir Bald & His Wig-Outs' and ‘The Legs’ (with Jorge and Mr. Peeblee - both Dr. Explosion - Spain). He also runs the fantastic Alopecia Records. Bald plays the guitar, sings and is re-known for his rather daring nay foolish on stage (and off-stage) antics that include walking along bar tops, jumping on tables and somersaulting and rollin' around on the floor doing the infamous 'P-bug ' during guitar solos!On bull fiddle is John 'Lard' Gibbs , who was the original bass player in Scottish beat kings, the Kaisers and now plays 4 strings for those magnificent (also) Scottish din-makers 'The Wildebeests' and the fabulous ‘Masonics’ with ex Milkshakes Mickey Hampshire and of course Bruce 'Bash' Brand. He has also played both guitar and double bass for Holly GolightlyThe near legendary 'Bash' Brand plays drums! Bash has been around for more years and graced more beat combos than he probably cares to remember. He has walloped skins for thee Milkshakes, Headcoats, Mighty Caesars, Holly Golightly, Masonics and various others, including the Link Wray no less! He also played/plays guitar with The Pop Rivets, The Adventures of Parsely, Dutronc and the Clique. Bruce has made more records than you've had hot dinners! He also works as record sleeve designer to the stars, working with the White Stripes and Mungo Jerry to name but two.Needless to say, their own brand of rockabilly, rock 'n' roll, beat and blues is pretty darned hot!Both of their albums ‘Snake Pit’ and ‘Have Knees, Will Tremble’ feature twelve top notch original compositions composed by the bald one. Both were recorded at the amazing Toe Rag Studios of London, using 100% original equipment. We are sure that you will agree that the results of the boy’s efforts in the studio are a quite superb vintage rock 'n' roll offering, full of fire, verve, energy, atmosphere and fun. Check out both albums on Voodoo Rhythm Records. The single ‘What Do You Look Like?’ (taken from their second album) features guest appearances from founding Milkshake, Mickey Hampshire and the wonderful, Holly Golightly (whose previous guest appearances have included spots with Mudhoney and the White Stripes!!)The band has two more albums worth of material recorded! They have been busy at both the fantastic Gizzard Studios of London and the equally fantastic Circo Perroti Studios, Gijon of Spain. So watch out for more ‘proper rock ‘n’ roll’ releases soon!The band has so far toured and played in France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Old Blighty of course!Influences on ‘Kneetrembler’ sound and style include Gene Vincent, Johnny Burnette, Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Charlie Feathers, Benny Joy, Bo Diddley, Link Wray, Chuck Berry, Sonny Burgess, Billy Lee Riley, The Sonics, The Wailers, Buddy Holly, John Lee Hooker, Junior Parker, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Dale Hawkins, Carl Perkins, Howlin Wolf, Magic Sam, The Coasters, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and Little Richard.BAND CONTACT;
