About Me

Ken Shimamoto has written extensively on music for print publications including FW Weekly, Texas Music, The Big Takeover, Shindig (UK), Funhouse (Italy), and DFW Poetry Review, and online for the I-94 Bar , The First Church of Holy Rock and Roll , KNAC.com, Funtopia , the MC5 Gateway , and MC5 Japan . He published the first interview in 20 years with former Iggy & the Stooges guitarist James Williamson in 2001, and a lengthy excerpt from his history of Sonic's Rendezvous Band was included in the liner notes for the boxset released by Easy Action Records (UK) in 2006. He recently self-published "WRECK ROOM STORIES: True Tales From the Home of Rock 'n' Roll in Fort Worth As Told By the People Who Were There," blogs as The Stash Dauber , reviews music for I Love Fort Worth , and contributes to Fort Worth Jazz . He also does freelance music PR, plays guitar in Stoogeaphilia , is looking to put together "a noisy Japrock-style improv outfit," and is a member of the Asian Media Crew .
