I was raised in a small Coal Mining town in WV. I am the youngest of three. My middle brother has played music and been in bands all of his life so that’s where I got the "MUSIC BUG." I started playing piano when I was 8 years old but hated to practice so my mom finally got tired of screaming at me and she let me quit, after four years of screaming though. Luckily I had learned enough that I was able to pick back up and start playing more as I got older. I have taught myself quite a bit actually, as well as some self taught guitar. I’ve been fortunate enough to go to college, mainly because Mom and Dad said I was going whether I wanted to or not. Glad I did now. I became a Registered Nurse then paid my own way to Graduate School while working 12 and 16 hour shifts at the hospital and being a single mother (you know the saying "SUCCESS COMES BEFORE WORK ONLY IN THE DICTIONARY") No, it wasn’t easy. However, I do now have a Master’s Degree in Nursing and am a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. My brother is a Psychiatrist, thank goodness because I’m sure I’ll need one when I lose my mind. We have a private practice together. It’s good because I’ve been able to support some of my music habit, well kind of, except for the huge debt that I’ll never pay off no matter how many CD’s I sell. It’s an EXPENSIVE DREAM!!..I have an 8 year old daughter who I love to death, even when she hates me. And yes, I’ve been married but never again. It has been my experience that a marriage license gives someone else permission to control my life and tell me what I am or am not capable of doing. I love it though because out of spite, I just did everything I wanted to do anyway to prove my point...that I CAN!! I am a very motivated and happy person. I love being around alot of people and I love meeting new people. I consider myself to be a good friend until someone hurts me or gives me a reason not to trust them. I commend those who take pride in themselves and are REAL people with REAL problems. We all have them. I don’t take "FAKE" people seriously.In late 2005 I began traveling to Nashville every other weekend to take voice lessons so that I could improve my overall tone and range. That is where I met Chris Dodson who became my manager and producer (along with Jeff Tweel) in my first and current CD "The Soul Inside of Me" paid for and released under MW Records (me). We have successfully achieved air play on many stations (non Billboard reporting stations) throughout the country with the first single release "I Don’t Drink Champagne." Although I love to write music, the songs on my first CD were all written by FABULOUS Nashville Songwriters. The "Champagne" song actually had a co-writer who has recently been a writer on Carrie Underwood’s "All American Girl." Yes, I feel blessed that I have been able to come this far in music (my BIGGEST dream) and plan to continue to pursue it until somebody gives me a shot with a label or until I go broke (which isn’t far off). I love all of my friends and fans that I have made along the way...YOU GUYS ROCK!!! And finally, pictures...I hate having my picture taken but I promise to try and get some new stuff up soon!!!
