When guitarist Jonas Albihn (Albihno) let a wad of tobacco fly from beneath his lip, releasing some "lip pressure" five young musicians had a new collective identity. Lipressure is about release...the release of emotion...the release of tension built up in the lives of five guys struggling to get by day in and day out.
The seeds of Lipressure were planted when Arleigh (Dounble A), Jonas (Albihno) and Antoine formed the rap/alternative band, Lupus. Looking for a fresh perspective the three re-formed Lupus into Lipressure with the addition of vocalist/rapper Mikael (the Brima) Mbenga and rapper Gary (Caliburn) James.
Lipressure exploded on to the scene with its unique blend of rap-rock a fusion of hip-hop and rock flavored with soul, the blues and drum and bass. A musical melting pot, Lipressure produces a sound that is raw, real and flowing with musical energy from the hearts and souls of its members. Lipressure's music is rooted in the experiences of its band members, five musicians from diverse backgrounds (Los Angeles, Goteborg and Geneva) coming together to make an incredible sound.
Influenced by such artists as The Roots, Rage Against the Machine and a Tribe Called Quest Lipressure comes on strong with its brand of rap-rock, a flavor so tasty it leaves audiences begging for more.
