About Me

Jonas Albihn (JA), aka Albihno aka Jalimansa aka the Natural King, was born on June 12, 1975 in the village Skyte outside of Ljusdal, Sweden to an artistic family. He formed his first band at the age of eleven.
To fulfill his call to perform and record JA left Stockholm, where he was based while touring with Soul/Blues-artist Bob Manning and arrived in Southern California in 1998 to attend the GIT program at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood.
In Hollywood JA joined the band Lipressure (Lp), which toured throughout California and released a self-titled album in 2000. In 2001 he released his solo debut, "Blue Berry", a well-stirred expression of his soulful feelings featuring Mikael Mbenga (the Brima) of Lp amongs others.
JA in 2002 returned to Sweden for his second effort, "The Natural King" released in 2003. It was a deeper even more soulful project, which lead him to West-Africa.
In 2004 JA arrived in the Gambia where he lived with the griot-family of Alieu Suso and Amodou "Bansang" Jobarteh. With their guidance he gained skills and a profound understanding of the Kora-instrument and Manding-music. Once JA took on the Kora he acquired the name: "Jalimansa", promoting that we are all kings in our lifes carrying on our culture.
In 2005 JA returned to the Gambia to tour. Honored of being backed by the Salam Band he performed alongside West-African artists Rootsman, Tata dindin Jobarteh and Peppahouse. JA reflected the flavor of Gambian music on his third album "Jalimansa" recorded in Göteborg and released in 2005.
New times, new sounds, and new rhythms, naturally healing rhythms. Albihno releases in April, 2009, a new album “på vägen till Sion“(on the way to Zion), a contemporary reggae-production in Swedish. The singer and multimusician JA spent time in the studio with "Fundamental band" inspired by dancehall, kora, and gospel-music, and releases his new album more defined and up to date than ever. An ep including dance-hall remix plus english version and a music video to the single “inspirerad att inspirera/inspired to inspire”. You will meet Albihno touring in the spring 2009 primarily in Scandinavia, at clubs and concerts, churches, institutes, and festivals, with “fundamental band” or dub-solo, amplified or acoustic.
JA give thanks to Jah the most High.
