As the 2nd in a series of double-A-side singles from Wisconsin-based artists on the newly launched Vicious Pop Digital, "Make 'Em Pop" and "Care Bears On Crack" launches Pistol Pete into new territory, jettisoning his previous mash-up and remix based work for a pair of unique and hyperactive original productions. Pete's self-released edits of Ghostface, Clipse, Blaqstarr and more have earned massive blog buzz and a featured spot in URB100. On "Pop" and "Crack" Pistol Pete takes juke sound into outer space, pushing sound and tempos into overdrive. The single has already recieved praise from Fluxblog and Discobelle, and has become a top 5 best seller at the newly launched Turntable Lab Digital store.
'Pistol Pete's tracks are increasingly frenetic, to the point that just hearing a few seconds of "Make 'Em Pop" or his brilliant Clipse remix immediately triples my pulse and triggers movement. This cut is almost too much -- it plays like a frantic, stylized chase scene, building up to a catchy but totally incoherent chorus of chopped-up hums and shouts.' - Matthew Perpetua @ FLUXBLOG 9/24/2007
'We got this crazy juke track from Pistol Pete called "Care Bears On Crack" the other day, it's taken from his recently released digital single on Vicious Pop Records and it's on some next level tip.' - Martin @ Discobelle 10/9/07
'Two Bangin' juke-style tracks from your boy Pistol Pete on Vicious Pop. "Make 'Em Pop" will make 'em sweat for sure with it's funky as hell guitar lick and and ambiguous vocal snippets. You need this if you rock the 150BPM+ realm. Also check the hilarious "Carebears On Crack" that sounds like the Detroit Grand Pubahs got trapped in Chicago and were forced to made juke shit rather than Detroit Techno. Slamming for sure, not for the weak of heart.' - snackmaster @ Turntable Lab Digital 09/18/2007
Terrior Bute is a trio of synthesizer fanatics based out of Milwaukee, WI. Since the release of their debut CD Return To The Astro Castle last year on Vicious Pop Records, the band has received critical praise from iconic punk zines Punk Planet and Slug & Lettuce along with popular websites Tha Bomb Shelter and Scattermish (+ had their “Future of Punk†ad campaign banned from Maximum RockNRoll). They’ve expanded their fan base state by state, playing with contemporaries like Japanther, Ponytail, XBXRX and more along the way. They’ve updated their uniforms and tightened up the brutality and energy of their performances. This focused sound dominates their newest recordings, a two song set on the new Vicious Pop Digital label. “Domes†and “Some People Know†turn up the volume and keep it short. It's, like, a digi-7".
