My Interests

my Heroes which are not always obvious to me but they hide in obscure corners of this world .THEY are THE LOST AND FOUND. i swear i have been someone else's compass for the last year and a half. i walk into a mess alot these days. thankfully i am an atheist so i really cannot blame anyone but myself. i miss walking. i used to do this alot in Chicago. i even miss the brutal winters. i had a Buick in Chicago that almost made it to l.a. but i had to abandon my beloved at a junkyard in Veil, Colorado. it was the high altitude and an erroneous mistake that led to it's end. i would like to mention that i am silently protesting a grotesque amount of details that i cannot mention at the moment. the list is far too long. perhaps i should start blogging...FAST FORWARD THREE YEARS...i started blogging, found God (just kidding), still find myself struggling with ordinary/tedious details that remain profoundly determined by time and money. what a bummer this is, but i still trudge that rock up the hill, and sometimes I try to explode the fucker,or at least throw a stone or 2. but i've been told recently (and i agree) that my heart doesn't have enough dynamite for this kind of temperment now. sometimes, and very rarely, i do miss the dark days of fragile inconsistencies: drugs, mind numbing tricks, underground friends, subterranean connections, and the varied techniques of escaping LIFE. less sentimental now, i am more concerned with Curiosity. now, mostly my toes curl up a bit when things are comming undone. that said, I have to admit Joy and a certain Fearless Fluttering of the Heart Everyday.p.s. I Like You

I'd like to meet:

Dagfinn always finds the right words for me, "Witty and Sarcastic, problem with authority, problem with produce, prolegomena to future metaphysics."

Music:

Pagan Altruism-the "Golden Rule of Ethics". Dance you Heathens!! Dance!

Movies:

I saw The Proposition by Nick Cave and it was so Beautiful. Really, this film is Stunning!Beau Travail from Claire Denis ( the best ending to a film I've ever seen). Some of my favorites: Kids, Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf, The Misfits, Minnie and Moskowitz, Morvern Callar, Magnolia, Two Lane Blacktop, Closer, Indian Runner, Badlands, The Last Picture Show, The Unforgiven, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Jesus Son

Television:

I believe it feels and looks like a revolving door inside a department store. I do admit to certain modern urges, regardless of how many limitations I may install on my psyche. I like to be entertained. The world is a fascinating place, even if I may not agree with it at times.

Books:

Words I can't forget: J.K. Huysman, Jim Harrison, Joan Didion, Marilynne Robinson, Denis Johnson, and well, so many others...

Hands Again. I think it is a Theme lately...

Monday night I found myself dining in a Thai Restaurant in Westwood. I was passing the time, waiting out the hour before my film, Babel, would begin. I sort of lounged in the darkness, drank a Thai Be...

Romancing the Freeway In L.A.

Sometimes I make funny faces at the cars driving by me. They must think I am blowing kisses, instead of the indefinite pout on my face, or the crinkling of my brow, or the growing of a very long tongu...
