The Coos County Roller Girls are the first flat track Roller Derby league on the Oregon Coast. We were created in 2007 and have filled our first year with competitions with neighboring leagues from around the Northwest.Roller Derby is a fun, full-contact sport played on quad roller skates. Coos County Roller Girls, as a league, contributes to the revitalization of a vintage sport that is gaining fast popularity across the nation. Our league members encompass a wide range of backgrounds and professions such as: business owners, students, managers, and mothers. Our members are gutsy girls like yourself that play a competitive sport primarily for meeting new friends, getting lots of exercise and having tons of fun. We pride ourselves in team spirit, camaraderie, and playing a rough and tumble sport with energy and sex appeal.Sound interesting? We are currently recruiting skaters 18 years or older, referees and volunteers. No skating experience is required – we will teach you everything you need to know! Currently, we hold beginners practice Tuesdays at 5:00pm and Sundays at 11:00am at the Sunset Middle School outdoor Roller Hockey rink. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
