My Interests

Music, aviation, gun rights (pro-2nd amendment). Sports I enjoy (spectator only) include NASCAR, Professional Bull Riding, and Rodeo.

I'd like to meet:

Persons, venues and organizations who would like to contract for my professional services as a performing musician.

Music:

I enjoy listening to most types of music EXCEPT ethnic, rap, and hip-hop. Early influences include Elvis Presley, Rick Nelson, the Kingsmen, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, and Chuck Berry. Enjoy the big band recordings of Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, Don Ellis, and Maynard Ferguson. My favorite female vocalists include (not necessarily in order of preference): Holly Cole, Diana Krall, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Reba McIntyre, Terri Clark, Faith Hill, Astrud Gilberto, and Ella Fitzgerald. Am currently exploring the blues -- Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

Movies:

Oldies but goodies. My absolute favorites include: (1) Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant, (2) Harvey with Jimmy Stewart, and (3) The Alamo with John Wayne. Because of their aviation theme, I enjoy The High and the Mighty and Island in the Sky, both with John Wayne, Airport with Dean Martin, Aces High with Christopher Plummer, and the PBS Series, Piece of Cake. And Paul Hogan deserves honorable mention for Crocodile Dundee I and II.

Television:

Broadcast TV only. I refuse to pay for cable or satellite. Not much worth viewing.

Books:

Books by Arthur Conan Doyle, Louis L'Amour, Ernest K. Gann, Richard Bach, Robert B. Parker, Clive Cussler, W.E.B. Griffin, Robert Ludlum, Ian Fleming and John LeCarre. May I also highly recommend the series of books on positive thinking by Norman Vincent Peale along with the success-oriented "Think and Grow Rich" series of books by Napoleon Hill.

Heroes:

Davy Crockett, William Travis, Jim Bowie, and the other defenders of the Alamo; Ulysses S. Grant, William "Tecumseh" Sherman, Phil Sheridan, Robert E. Lee, Jeb Stuart, Stonewall Jackson; John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Charlton Heston; George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, John Bolton; Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich; and Congressional Medal of Honor awardees Alvin York and Greg Boyington.
