Although it’s been a Scottish summer that’s seen more festivals and parties than ever before, for many local clubbers, saving up the pennies, packing the sun cream and heading off to Ibiza for a fortnight, a week or just a couple of days is what they’ll remember as the highlight for years to come. As they return to the rain and head back to the office on Monday morning all that’s left are the hazy memories of messy nights, the anticipation of next year and the need to hit the dance floor again in search of the music they’d heard for the first time in a random beach bar or corner of a club as the sun rose at 7am. So cue the next FILTHY gorgeous to hit town, fully armed with the wrongest sounds of the summer, clutching a pair of fluorescent Speedos and looking a little spanked from the sun to bring those lost warm evenings back to them!
Since kicking off in Glasgow back in April FILTHY gorgeous has taken pride in ruffling the feathers and filling a gaping hole in the local clubbing scene, bringing it’s unique brand of twisted chaos to town and creating an unpredictable intimate party where anything goes, slap bang in the centre of the city. Now with a fabulous loyal support September weekend welcomes the man who started it all in Ibiza a few years back, Jamie Gittins for his maiden Glasgow stint. Jamie brings with him a fierce reputation for playing deeper, dirtier underground house, electro and breakbeat with his skills and popularity now becoming synonymous with Ibiza and making him a very well respected name in the UK & throughout Europe. He’s now spent seven years on the island, enjoying residencies and sets at world famous venues, such as Privilege, Space, Eden & Es Paradis. When back in the UK he regularly graces top clubs up and down England including Pacha, Sankeys, Turnmills, Canvas, Egg, The Custard Factory & the HoneyClub and has performed guest mixes on radio stations worldwide such as Nova (Sydney), HFM, Lovehouse & Flaix (Ibiza), 92Dubai (Dubai), Kiss100 (London) and Xfm Scotland. He’ll be joined by Fg ‘Escocia’ resident Lisa Littlewood, also returning from a successful summer in Ibiza; Glasgow underground favourites 2mankydjs who put in their second Fg appearance and ‘Colours’ man Colin Sales for what is the climax to The Merchant City Festival.
FILTHY gorgeous is one of the most respected and fastest growing club brands around. Launched in Ibiza in July 2005 as a small workers party in San Antonio’s ‘West End’. The following season they were snapped up by the biggest club in the world Privilege to host the Coco Loco room every Wednesday for Mauro Picotto’s ‘Meganite’. Throughout the winter FILTHY gorgeous hosted parties up and down the UK as well as over seas, from the stunning Mezzanine in Tulum - Mexico to a highly successful tour of Asia, packing out venues in Thailand, China, Australia & Dubai.
The past few months have been some of the most successful to date for FILTHY gorgeous who have once again swept across Ibiza, putting on their own unique brand of organized mayhem in new unusual secret locations. Season 2007 has witnessed one off parties in villas, seedy strip clubs and even an old zoo, each striving to offer something a little different and combined with nights at the world famous clubs the island’s renowned for. Consistently showcasing the freshest and most exciting DJ and producer talent emerging from the underground scene and pushing the boundaries, this summer’s been friskier than ever and Glasgow welcomes them back with open arms.
