Cool Slideshows --- I have been entertaining every since I can remember! My parents realized the first time they put that microphone in my hand and put me on stage they would never get me off! I try and keep life and my show numbers on the humurous side. I don't really have a serious bone in my body! I love to laugh and look on the funny side of life! I do perform many numbers live and will rewrite some lyrics to suit my numbers. My persona is made up of,.... well if you took Mae West, Classic Liz Taylor, Betty Paige, Ruth Wallis and June Cleaver and put them in a blender you would get me!! I perform numbers from the 30's to the early 60's. The majority of my numbers are the comdic scandalous numbers of the night life underground of the time period that were not exceptable for main stream music.
Why the name Bulimia Puree you may ask! WHY NOT! Momma T, and my best friend/sis Donnetta Dick and I were drunk and I really wanted to change my name. I have had the same camp name "Iona Bigdick" for many years. My stage persona had so evovled and I felt that the name no longer suited me! I had two names at one time. My comedy name, Iona, and my glamour "pretty drag" Diane Diamond. They eventually merged into one and the same. But I didn't just change my name. We put up flyers and announced that Iona had mysterious died! Many thought I really had! Sorry! So we invited every one out for my funeral/tribute show. After all these years I had to f**king die to get my own show!
So I am not makeing fun of people with anorexia and bulimia with my name. I am making fun of myself! I went through a few years of therapy for it and sometimes I think I had too much therapy when I pop a zipper! It's a horible disease and it never leaves you. My heart to all my brothers and sisters out there that still struggle with it!
