I used to watch 'stenders and The Bill, but went cold turkey on both, simultaneously, at the same time, concurrently. Nah...it was easy. I have found that I do not need the crutch of soap opera any more, be it mythical cockney based, or rozzer based. Actually books are better than current TV.There's not enough music on telly, in my opinion. Bring back The Chart Show.

If your tear ducts are blocked or summat, and you need to make water come out of them then I suggest Atonement by Ian McEwan to end your drought.
