The Little Nashville Opry

The Finest In Country Music Entertainment

About Me

The Little Nashville Opry, nestled in a valley within the quaint, scenic Brown County hills of southern Indiana, has hosted the finest Country Music entertainment for over 30 years.Scores of Country Music's most popular names, as well as Southern Gospel, Contemporary Christian groups and popular vocalists like Tom Jones and Wayne Newton, have appeared at The Little Nashville Opry over the years. On Friday nights, the The Little Nashville Express Band, comprised of some of Indiana's finest musicians and often accompanied by guest artists from four surrounding states, are a popular attraction in our 2000 seat auditorium.Throw in the annual Little Nashville Opry Talent Contest and some special benefit shows, and The Little Nashville Opry has presented some 3,000 performances since Cal Smith and opening act Mickey Gilley inaugurated the venue’s stage on April 4, 1975.From the building’s humble beginnings as a sawmill and later an indoor horse arena, The Little Nashville Opry was transformed by four local couples interested in bringing top-quality entertainment to the South-Central Indiana area, already a popular tourist destination. After the late Dewayne Hamilton and his wife Esther bought out their business partners in 1979, The Little Nashville Opry embarked on an aggressive expansion and modernization plan which Esther and co-partner Jim Bowyer continue today. Guests of The Little Nashville Opry will find ample, well-lit parking lots; spacious, clean rest-rooms; an appetizing selection from our concession stand; a variety of Nashville, Indiana souvenirs at The Opry Gift Shop, and our famous (no-calorie) fudge from The Candy Emporium The Little Nashville Opry presents the brightest stars in Country Music each Saturday night from early March to late November, from rising young newcomers to Hall of Fame Veterans who helped build Country Music to its current popularity.Every Friday, The Little Nashville Express Band and talented guests from throughout the Midwest provide appreciative audiences Indiana's best entertainment value: a three-hour performance of Country Music favorites for just $10
