Bufords Atomic Outhouse has a very distinctive sound, which includes rockabilly, swing, and old skool country. Guitarist Kevin Gilbert, Bassist Scott Hindes, and Drummer Michael Fields are no strangers to the music industry. Kevin Gilbert is well known for his playing in Leaving Trunk and Humdinger Hootn Annie. Kevin has played everything from bluegrass and country to folk and southern rock, and is known as one of the best guitarist in the region. This reputation has enabled Kevin to play with many diverse bands in the region. Kevins influences include Led Zeppelin, Little Feat, The Allman Bros band, The Band, and the Black Crowes. Kevin brings taste and years of experience to the band. Scott Hindes has also made a name for himself in the Bluegrass circle with Jumping the Tracks, and has played in many groups in the Knoxville area. Scott is a master at his craft, with a web page dedicated to teaching other upright bassist the Rockabilly Technique. Scott is a top rated upright bassist in the region, and brings a positive and fresh attitude to the group. Last but not least we have Mike Fields, who is very well known for his drumming with Speed Father Pops, Stranger Seasons, Shotgun XII, Sevenfold, and Letters to Scarlet. Mike has played everything from Funk and Punk to Old Skool Country and Jazz. Mikes influences include Miles Davis, Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Little Feat, Legendary Shack Shakers, The Asylum Street Spankers, Led Zeppelin, The Meters, Brian Setzer, Rev Horton Heat, BR5-49, Hank III, Elvis, Jerry Reed, and Buddy Rich. Mike is very well known in the region for his diversity and taste, and has gained the respect of many drummers throughout the southeast.
