Hey…I’m Daniel Kayser, producer/writer and host for GameTrailers.com and MTV Networks. I’m a native New Yorker who earns my keep by traveling the world and covering the videogame industry through the production of game-related media. I’m also a musician (drummer to be exact), artist (mad-skillz on the Etch-O-Sketch), and freelance writer for the likes of Hardcore Gamer Magazine (HGM) .
You may have seen some of my work on GameTrailers.com, Spike TV’s GameTrailers TV, MTV, MTV2, Xbox Live Marketplace, other online outlets or on my Ma’s VCR…I host interviews, event coverage, studio tours and other various features in what is assuredly an awesome gig to have. I’m the co-host of GameTrailers TV on SPIKE, so if you’re feeling geeky, check out the show and let me know what you think.
I feel very fortunate to be covering the industry that I grew up loving ever since the days of Atari. To see gaming invade the mainstream like it has over the past decade or two has really been exciting for me and has opened the door for so many wonderful, creative people to get involved. I have a sincere passion for the art of interactive entertainment (that’s what us elite geeks call videogames), and my goal is to help the industry continually evolve in a positive direction. I might be crazy, but I think the medium of gaming provides an unparalleled opportunity to reach people by creating an amazing interactive experience that we all can share. Plus, I really like shooting my friends online in Rainbow Six.
My adventures have brought me to places like Tokyo, China, Germany and some really odd pizza joint in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. Honestly though, if I’m not at home with my beautiful wife and sons, on a computer, or online with my peeps, I’m on a plane heading out to a shoot. If you’re a gamer you might run into me at an industry related event, in which case I would encourage you to say “hey†and be one of the thousand or so people to tell me to get a haircut.
Anyway, thanks for checking out my myspace page and thanks to all the great people that I work with, to my family and close personal friends for their support of my career and to all the viewers/readers who have helped allow me to keep doing what I do!
All the best,
DK
