About Me

Manifest destiny. Life is what you make it. Thoughts do not become reality. Thoughts are reality. From the moment we wake up every day we create our entire world around us. We just forget most of the time to do it in a thoughful, conscious, deliberate matter. So our world is chaotic because we don't feed and nurture our minds and spirits properly. Garbage in, garbage out.
DJ and music collector/selector. Social Drunk. Can carry a conversation on any subject, not quite a know-it-all, but maybe a know-it-most. MacGuyver should be my middle name. Would-be-could-be-chef if my other careers don't pan out. Be careful, sometimes I'm just talking nonsense to get people to think - so many of us don't think in our daily lives and it is too bad.
It ain't about the destination, it's about the journey. If you focus on your destination in life too much, you miss the journey which is where/when all the fun, excitement and growth in your life occurs. Goals are important in life to set a course towards a destination, but if you become a slave to your goals you miss out on life. So keep half an eye on your destination to make sure you do not stray too far off course (or to set a new course when necessary), but keep the other eye and a half open to enjoy and participate in the journey.
A little bit of love goes a long ways - love yourself, love the ones around you, love everyone, love everything, even those people or things undeserving of love need love just the same, perhaps even more so. The energy you put out into the universe comes back to you everyday in so many little ways that we often forget to see it. Even when you are wound up or wound down, it is still there and if you just open yourself up enough to see it and feel it you can receive it coming back to you. Some may see it as the creator's love, but perhaps it is the love of creation* flowing in a circle back to those who give it out.(*creation, as in all things great and small, seen and unseen).
Call me what you want, bleeding heart, hopeless romantic... I want to save the world, even though at times I feel like I can't even save myself. What do you know and how can you help?

My Interests

I am not religious, but am deeply spiritual - I believe everything and everyone is interconnected and my church is the mountains, valleys, ocean, sun, moon and night sky. My spiritual leaders are my conscious mind, my subconscious and the superconscious that connects the entire universe/omniverse together in this journey called life.

My politics are progressive (with a dose of liberal infused libertarianism for good measure). For all the conservative talk about the evils of big government and letting market forces prevail instead of legislation, it is all double talk. The United States has been turned into a draconian socipoliticoeconomic engine designed for one thing - to bend the world towards coming under control of a very few. Absolute power corrupts absolutely every time. Unfortunately, we walk ever closer with each passing day to willingly hand right over to them what little remaining power we have.

Current projects/foci : DJing/music (a lifelong passion for this vinyl junkie), cooking, biking. I rarely have time, but I love the outdoors (camping, hiking, etc.) Improving my writing and spreading the word, sharing my love with the world. Laughter... sweet heavenly hearty laughter...

I'd like to meet:

I'm into meeting cool, open-minded people to explore the universe with (not necessarily our universe). Oh, and laugh at my jokes, or if they aren't funny, then just laugh at me (I probably won't know the difference anyways).

I really just want a handful of positive, forward looking (and moving) people in my life. That small circle to start making ripples, followed by waves and eventually tsunamis of consciousness across the cosmos (or at least across the dinner table). And in that line of thought, this is the quote of the century... "Just love and be loved. Really though."(anonymous)

I'd also like to meet Jeff Vader and get his autograph (see video).

I'd also like to meet someone who can bankroll my plans to build a Chinese/Asian themed Casino in Las Veags to be named "Fat Chan's Lucky Casino", or my plans for the Pho noodle house inside a pool hall to be called "Pho Cue" (say them out loud and you'll get the full impact).

Music:

Eclectic tastes in music - too much to list here.

Movies:

anything Terry Gilliam, anything Quentin Tarantino, anything John Woo, Memento, Matrix (the first one), Amelie, Reign Over Me, Samurai 1 2 & 3, Heat, the Saragossa Manuscript, The Blues Brothers, Scratch, Star Trek 6, Krull, This is Spinal Tap, Hollywood Shuffle, Trading Places, 50 First Dates...

Television:

Not so much into TV, and radio - it is influenced too much by marketing and targeting a demographic. The few shows I watch are mostly Battlestar Galactica (new series), Flight of the Conchords. Old classic stuff on DVD/reruns or just playing in my memory banks are, The Prisoner, the non-government conspiracy theory episodes of X-files, Monty Python's Fying Circus, 3-2-1 contact, Miami Vice, Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies, Animaniacs...

Books:

1421: The Year China Discovered America. By Gavin Menzies.
and
Genesis of the Cosmos by Paul laViolette
Celestine Prophecy, The Alchemist, LOTR, Guns Germs and Steel

Heroes:

All of the Ancestors.

The pioneers of Hip Hop and the pioneers of modern DJing and turntablism.

All of the people known and unknown that fought for justice not only for themselves, but especially for others who could not defend themselves.
