About Me

I am happily married to the best friend I've ever had. I have five (yes, five) gorgeous, intelligent, talented children, one fabulous son-in-law, and as of 12/14/07 I have a beautiful new daughter-in-law (merry christmas to me!). I also have some brand new kittens--my crazy cat had them somewhere in my house. I proudly teach music at two high schools, West Lincoln and Loyd Star, where I am the choir director, asst. band director, general music teacher and elementary music teacher. I am very active in the Brookhaven Little Theatre, where I have directed the last 3 shows (Oklahoma!, Wild Pecos Bill (children's theatre) and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever). I also direct BLT's Children's Theatre Camp, held the last 2 weeks of July. I am blessed to be part of New Life, an a capella quartet, and am excited about the new direction we are taking. And I still haven't figured out how to add photos to this thing...

Music:

Favourite band? The Golden Band from Tigerland!!! Followed very closely by the Loyd Star Hornet Band! All time favourite: Rich Mullins--I believe the contemporary Christian music genre never completely recovered from losing him. I also love Vocal Union, an a capella group that is absolutely fantastic, both to listen to and to see live. Secular-wise, Dan Fogelberg is my main music man (sleep easy, you precious man, I'll see you again someday). I love the Neville Brothers, and Cowboy Mouth is a new favourite--"Voodoo Shoppe" is a very cool CD. I grew up on Pavarotti, Domingo and Wunderlich--though my favourite tenor is still my dad. I adore Louis Armstrong, B.B. King, Wynton Marsalis, Hiram Bullock and Al Jarreau, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison and Warren Zevon. Oh, and Ricky Skaggs and Ricky Lee Jones, and Jerry Jeff Walker. And, thanks to one of my ultra cool students, I have been turned on to Emery.
