About Me

In the year 2007 I resolve to:
Reunite the Spice Girls.

"Our worth in life will be thy worth we pray to keep it true / and may thy spirit live in us, forever....L-S-U!" Single, 42 (act 20), I'm EXTREMELY fortunate to be part of a close, dedicated family, a small - but loyal - circle of loving friends, and active in several social/political causes. I am a fourth generation singer-dancer-actress (and might I add the fifth generation is already giving us a run for our money) and have been performing on stage and in bands since - well, I honestly don't remember a time when I wasn't. I have a MYSPACE music page - there's not much to it yet but I'm in the process of writing/recording a few demos. Click on Caryn Fulda on my friends list below. I also had the wonderful opportunity to live (albeit briefly) in Ireland five years ago and there hasn't been a moment since when I haven't longed to go back. I've traveled some throughout Europe with the Czech Republic and Austria next on my list (thanks, Billy Joel), but something about Ireland truly captured my heart. Professionally, after years of covering news stories and interviewing D-list celebs I'm in the process of transitioning from a career in radio and television broadcasting into the legal field. I'm also a member of Lakewood church, where I attend services regularly, and the Houston World Affairs Council.

My Interests

Music, dancing (Irish, techno, latin, ballroom, belly), sporting events (I'm at the juice box for every Astros Sunday home game), lifelong LSU Football season-ticket holder, volunteering helping the homeless and our aging war veterans. On weekends I'm either at a beach, taking the rail to Downtown or the Museum District, hiking along Buffalo Bayou, home improvement stuff, sewing, or taking in a movie.

I'd like to meet:

I'm really on here to keep in touch with friends and family. If you think we have something in common and would like to get in touch with me, that's cool, but I generally don't add people I don't know just to bump up my numbers ;-) AS MUCH AS I LOVE THE SHOW "COUPLING" I WAS JUST GIDDY THAT MY SUPERHERO PERSONALITY IS:Spider-Man Spider-Man 75% Hulk 75% Superman 70% Wonder Woman 70% Green Lantern 70% Robin 65% Supergirl 55% Iron Man 55% Batman 50% The Flash 50% Catwoman 20% You are intelligent, witty,

Television:

Anything created by Joss Whedon, Grey's Anatomy, Studio 60, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Coupling (British version please), Footballers Wive$ (also on BBC America), and Battlestar Galactica (the actors on there are HOT!). And I'm re-living my second childhood with my nieces as they discover all the Disney classics.

Books:

I enjoy reading non-fiction and historical fiction, like A Star Called Henry (Roddy Doyle). I also love "exquisite corpses" like "Naked Came the Manatee" and "Yeats is Dead." When it comes to authors, James Joyce, Ann Rice, and I get a kick out of the look on people's faces when I tell them that at one time Andre Codrescu was among my drinking buddies.

Heroes:

John McCain, George Stephanopoulis, Bono and, most importantly, my parents and two sisters. I also didn't learn until I was older just how amazing my grandparents were - they really were part of "The Greatest Generation."

Don Imus

Firstly, Mr. Imus speaks to millions, but that doesn't mean he speaks FOR millions. It never ceases to amaze me that someone like Don Imus or Howard Stern can be so powerful that something they ...

Charlie Fulda's 100th Birthday

It's been an interesting week....

With my aforementioned penchant for romantic bust-ups around Easter I have dreaded this week. Even when I'm not in a relationship all the other times have just kind of marred the season for me, so thi...

When news anchors slip up.....

Heard on CNN Radio this morning - "Concerns over humping housing sales..."   I assume he meant "slumping" housing sales - or he was talking about a particularly fun neighborhood.......

Eireann go Bragh - Ireland Forever

It's already St. Patrick's Day in Ireland, and all day long I've been thinking about this song from Finian's Rainbow. It's one of my "da's" favorite musicals, and I can't hear anyone else but my siste...
