About Me

Our reality is now your reality!
This site is dedicated to our families, to our friends, and to our fans--past and present--throughout the world--and especially to all the critics; thank you all!
FR’s founder and long-time front man, Peter Morcey (Big Pete), was born and raised in Connecticut’s Brass City. In his youth, Peter stomped the streets of the city’s working-class neighborhoods, including Town plot, East End, West Side, and Brooklyn.
During the 1980s, areas of the Brass City had suffered from unemployment, gang-violence, and crime. On the one hand, so-called family values and American patriotism were espoused by political ideologues, on the other, were the realities of urban decay and unemployment, both to the detriment of the lower-classes.
Pete was all-too-aware of this political hypocricy, a phenomenon only compounded by what has today been termed ‘reaganomics' --an economic system for the few which all but prohibited labor-unions and led to the outsourcing of thousands of manufacturing jobs (a.k.a.'The Downsizing of America'); there followed large lay-offs and a worsening plight for inner-city youth and their working-class families.
Consequently, many Brass-City machinists and factory workers, too, lost their jobs. Today, the old brass-maufacturing buildings serve as a symbolic reminder of the city's rise and decline.
Disaffected by the concrete nightmare, at the end of the day, Morcey found refuge in the then thriving East-Coast Punk/Hardcore music scene. Tri-state area bands and others were billed weekly at local clubs such as the Anthrax and the Brick-n-Wood in Norwalk and New Haven, Connecticut, respectively.
The unity and energy shared among the members of this underground scene impressed Pete's psyche. So impressed was he that, in 1986, against a backdrop of urban decay and social injustice--indeed, a 'forced reality'--Big Pete, at the age of 15, belted out a song now-called "U.S. For Us," and thus began the band Forced Reality--a voice for all the working-class men, women, and children of the Brass City, as well as sundry punk music enthusiasts throughout the US, Europe, Canada, and the world over. Cheers!
