About Me

Young would-be snob and half-educated ex-music major, undaunted by his lack of any particular instrumental proficiency, poor singing voice, or utter inability to write lyrics, decides to try his hand at writing his own songs. Whether or not this was a good idea has yet to be determined. At long last he came close to finishing a few and, vanity overcoming embarassment, decided to cast them out into the unknown, message-in-a-bottle style (i.e. set up this myspace page). He's not responsible for any of the words here, all of which are taken from various favorite poems; he is, however, responsible for all of the sounds, produced with whatever lay close to hand and clumsily recorded, overdub on top of overdub, with the sort of sloppy amateurism he desperately hopes might be mistaken for purity. But if, for whatever reason, what you hear pleases you, he'd be delighted if you stopped and said hello.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Blog

And finally my allotted four

The latest is my attempt at a fake country song, complete with a fake drum part made on a fake drum machine (my first ever attempt at any sort of drum-programming- results were mixed, to say the least...

And another yet

The latest is rather more of a self-assigned compositional exercise than anything else; I don't really play guitar, to speak of, and when I do it's generally limited to pretty basic strummed chords. A...

Another song done

This one based off of a chord progression/piano line I thought up years ago on a walk around campus, stormy November day my last year of college), and a countermelody thought up shortly after that. It...

So I finally finished a song

Which took much longer than I expected to get everything right (or at least some semblance of right), strings and vocals in particular. I'd still very much prefer it wasn't me singing- my own singing ...
