My inspirations are animals and the natural world, colour, detail and an exploration of how our perceptions of things can change when objects are taken out of their usual environments and placed elsewhere. Recently I have begun to introduce the human figure to my work which adds another dimension. The work can be surreal and is experimental. Please check out more in the pics section and leave comments.

'Macdonald's deceptively naive paintings narrate a numinous land of dreams, filled with witty imagistic juxtapositions and happy surprises. Sincerity sustains her visions, yet real pictorial savvy makes her compositions compelling for their formal qualities as well as for her wonderfully upbeat sensibility' (Taplinger, M., Gallery & Studio, Vol. 5 No. 3 , Feb-March 2003, New York).
