Books:

Mostly nonfiction, but I love Kurt Vonnegut. Other faves and recent reads: Ishmael, To Reign in Hell, Amusing Ourselves to Death, Sophie's World, Neverwhere, Pattern Recognition, and The Last Byline by Rip Rense.

Heroes:

These aren't exactly heroes, but they're people I admire: Margaret Braun, Todd Schorr, Mark Ryden, Rip Rense and Bobby's friend, Mike Rendon. Oh hell, and Bobby too.
