About Me

Born and raised in rural New Richmond, OH just east of Cincinnati. The family was classified as lower middle class. The home was very small, only two bedroom, and contained no indoor plumbing, which was rare because that was unheard of in today's time. It wasn't until Joe’s later teenage years the family finally had the funds to install the indoor plumbing. Joe and his siblings were often embarassed about their home, and kept their life private from their friends. Joe and his five siblings learned early on the stresses of having a large family on very little income. The children learned to adapt with having the bear necessities to get by in life. The children worked hard pulling tobacco, bailing hay and various other forms of hard agricultural labor to help their family make ends meet. Even though the home was very small, the family was not very emotionally close.
With Joe's mom singing in the church choir, and an avid Elvis fan, Joe learned of singing at a very young age. He developed an appreciation for various forms of music. When his parents would watch the musical television shows such as Grand Ole Opry, and Hee Haw, Joe was very young and was often the only child whose interest was sparked by the music and performers. While developing an interest in various types of music, it would be a pivotal moment in Joe’s life that made him feel he had received a true calling to sing, even though he was only a young child, he was aware of this calling. Joe was watching a tape of Elvis’ 68’ Comeback Special with his mom, and felt that calling to sing and perform for people. Joe would tell his family, friends and even his teachers “I am going to be a singer,” and with that he would listen mostly to Elvis (at the time), and practice singing continually, knowing he had a true talent.
As soon as he was "old" enough to qualify in elementary, Joe joined his school choir, as well as playing the trumpet in band, and performed many shows. High School brought the opportunity to audition for the Troubadours, a high honor traveling choral group. While in this group, Joe had several opportunities to perform solos as well as group performing. His Chorus teacher recognized Joe's talent immediatley and commented often about it to peers as well as other students.
When Joe grew into a young adult, his musical influences had taken on a classic rock interest. His musical library started to grow and began to include such artists as Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, etc. His passion for the various sounds of music styles and the way the performers had delivered their songs had grown tremendously.
Starting in Joe’s late twenties to current, Joe had even more influences in his musical career that consisted of George Strait, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and Travis Tritt. His love for country began at an early age, and made itself present again as Joe became an adult. The deep appreciation for music in general, the history of all music, the various styles of performing, have been a part of Joe’s soul that drives him every day.
Although Joe knew he wanted to pursue a singing career, he let "life" get in the way of his hopes and dreams. He lacked the maturity, support and self confidence in his early years that would have made his music career difficult to be successful.
In April 2003, Joe’s life was impacted when he met, Kathleen. The couple met during a night out at Karaoke. Kathleen also shares a deep appreciation for various forms of music. Her family is filled with musical talent. Kathleen was no stranger to vocal talent, and rekindled the burning passion in Joe to perform. Joe and Kathleen were married in October 2004. It was Kathleen who pushed Joe to pursue his singing career. She arranged a promotion plan and engaged it full throttle to help Joe achieve his dream. Kathleen arranged several talent contests to expose Joe to more than just the local community. Joe has competed in a wide variety of talent contests, and has claimed victory to more than thirty of them, including winning a talent contest in Nashville, TN, October 2006. Kathleen promoted Joe while on vacation in Nashville, and helped him gain several opportunities there to perform for many people. Joe sang with several house bands in Nashville along the “strip,” and was received in a positive, respectful manner. Also with the help of his wife, Joe has had the opportunity to perform locally with a band for more than 120 patrons at a time. With the support of his family, Joe and Kathleen have decided to make the passions of singing a reality for Joe. Kathleen believes the rest of the world should share in the pure joy of the vocal talent of her husband, Joe. Joe knows he is at a mature place in his life to have respect and understanding for the business aspect of the music industry that will compliment his vocal talent, and make the impact he needs to "break into" the music business and have a successful music career.
Joe has started to gain a lot of attention in a short amount of time. He has appeared on television and radio shows such as "Smart Country", 700WLW, MCMTG radio. His music is being playing online via Clear Channel and he moved to a 15th place ranking in 3 WEEKS! and is still climbing! His performances have grown and the last venue The Gaslight Theater sold well over 250 tickets, with a request to come back soon! Joe has been getting more and more "buzz" every time he steps foot out the door! He just knows with each performance, he was born to be onstage!!!!
