About Me

"Blending British pop and American rock & roll -- tempered with a hint of Peter Gabriel avante garde -- Southern California's fighting Iris has long shown a dedication to the art of music seldom seen in today's market. Their unique, yet commercial sound has been featured on a variety of successful compilation discs, and their critical acclaim has followed them around the United States. Widely recognized as one of the best unsigned acts in the world, the band has garnered rave reviews in every major city across the country for their hook-laden music and inimitable live show. fighting Iris transcends ages and genres; the Beatles did it, Oasis did it, and Iris is doing it. . .see them in the clubs while you still can."
(event brochure blurb by Dirk Dutton, Sunset Strip Radio)

"really, really good. fighting Iris lives semi-permanently in my CD player."

"perhaps the best independent artist I have ever heard."
-- al bowman (founder, los angeles music awards)
"great songwriting, melodies, their time will come."
-- curt smith (tears for fears)
"the CD is excellent, yet pales in comparison to the live show. chad. . .conveys a blend of intensity, sexuality & mystery (with a hint of shyness) that is simply captivating."
-- indiegroup
"Beautiful vocal arrangements! fighting Iris has a good chance to make a tremendous impact." -- john braheny (founder, national academy of songwriters)
"fighting Iris . . . will be a sure-fire hit in the UK; wonderful vocal melodies."
-- chaotic order magazine (united kingdom)
"loaded with potential, this crafty band has digested the best of 60's, 80's & 90's pop, and reminds us of early r.e.m. & lennon/mccartney duets. terrific!"
-- music connection magazine
"There is no way this band will not enjoy immense success."
-- curt cuomo, writer/producer (KISS)
"great melodies. . .chad is a star."
-- john avila (oingo boingo)
fighting Iris is currently in seattle, recording the follow-up to 2004's multi-award-winning taxi down the runway. their fourth full-length CD, downtown blue, is set for release around the first of the year, 2008. Stephen Zimmer, writer/director & founder of the popular Midwest Entertainment Conference, is calling it "the best Iris record yet" (having used the demo version of the new track royal neon in a recent film). songs from downtown blue will release periodically, leading up to the official release party in los angeles in early 2008. a comprehensive tour schedule will follow, so stay tuned for dates, cities & venues.
chad is also currently producing an amazing, young artist named Nikki Kilker; please take a moment and visit her profile, when you can ( Nikki's Myspace Profile ).
