About Me

I am a graphic designer and I love music... specifically music from the 80s... but i like a little bit of everything (well, except for country music). I currently work at an advertising agency in Philadelphia, PA, as a graphic/web designer. I actually like my job.

In my spare time, I spend A LOT of time on the computer, work-related or otherwise. I am a bit silly with a warped sense of humor. I collect CDs, Bunnymen memorabilia, a lot of silly quirky things from Japan, stupid toys, and comic books. I buy a lot of crap on ebay. I obsess over dorky things and cute british boys. I am a sci-fi nerd. I am silly. I am NOT a girly girl. I like sudoku puzzles. I am taking bass guitar lessons... slowly learning to play "properly". I recently went on a trip to london & liverpool, and i can't wait to go back!! I

My Interests

Going to see the bunnymen in concert, listening to new music, chatting on internet forums, quirky japanese pop culture, Harry Potter, comic books, cartoons, tattoos, 50's style hot rods, Vintage Scooters and motorcycles, obsessing over silly things, being a nerd, fangirling, ebay, world of warcraft, Sci-Fi TV, shiny things, London, tea, 80s new wave music, blogging, england
Video of the week:

Echo & the Bunnymen - Never Stop (live at Royal Albert Hall 1983)

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who are not afraid to be themselves and act weird/crazy/silly/retarded... people who embrace their inner-nerd and flaunt it proudly... people who are smart and creative and geeky, and definitely a fan of music (or musicians themselves)... having a sense of humor/understanding sarcasm is very important.

i've already met my inspiration: my favorite guitarist Will Sergeant and my favorite author Neil Gaiman... but to be honest, I am very shy and tend to act a bit silly around famous people... and usually end up embarrassing myself.

I'd like to someday meet Ian McCulloch (of the Bunnymen) and Richard Butler (of the Psychedelic Furs) and James Callis (Gaius Baltar on BSG) and Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond on LOST).

Music:

Echo and the Bunnymen, Psychedelic Furs, The Cure, Electrafixion, Glide, Depeche Mode, The Chameleons UK, Go Home Productions, Love Spit Love, Ian McCulloch, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dead Milkmen, Primus, U2, Luna, Rolling Stones, the Who, Marilyn Manson, Morrissey, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., Frank Zappa, the B-52's, Sisters of Mercy, Jesus and Mary Chain, Coldplay, INXS, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, the Smiths, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Joy Division, New Order, Reverend Horton Heat, Editors, Interpol, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Pearl Jam, Los Straitjackets, The Mission UK, Royal Crown Revue and lots more...

Movies:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Breakfast Club, all the Harry Potter movies, This is Spinal Tap!, The Birdcage, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Mirrormask, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Labyrinth, Galaxy Quest, Love Actually, Office Space, A Fish Called Wanda, The Usual Suspects, Pirates of the Caribbean, all the PIXAR movies, American History X, Sin City, Shawshank Redemption, The Crow, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, AKIRA, Clerks, Dogma, Sixteen Candles, Donnie Darko, Point Break, V for Vendetta, The Prophecy, Stargate, Rounders, Stardust, Lord of the Rings trilogy, the MATRIX, 10 Things I Hate About You...

Television:

LOST, Battlestar: Galactica (the new one), Heroes, Bones, Smallville, ALIAS, the X-Files, West Wing, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Scrubs, Kids in the Hall, the Shield, The Office, Mythbusters, News Radio, Absolutely Fabulous, Dr. Katz, Family Guy, American Dad, CSI: Las Vegas, Invader Zim, the Simpsons

Books:

Anything by Neil Gaiman: Neverwhere, American Gods, Stardust, Coraline, Good Omens, Anansi Boys, Sandman comics... the entire HARRY POTTER series... James and the Giant Peach was my favorite book when I was little.

I like fiction that has a little bit of fantasy in it, because I secretly want things like magic and wizards to be real.

a quote from Steve Carell: If we were meant to read for enjoyment, would God have created television? Read as it was intended — for exercise. The more you read, the more you expand your — what's the word I'm looking for? — your stockpile of words. You must have a stockpile of words that you can pass along to your children for their stockpile.

Heroes:

Will Sergeant and Neil Gaiman
