About Me

After leaving Trinity College of Music in 2004 Will has played with loads of people on loads of different gigs. What a lucky boy. Currently he's touring the country very slowly with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang playing Assistant-Co-Sub-Section-Principal 2nd Trumpet. Since being on tour Will has managed to experience a whole new array of emotions, some which are dangerously close to having him taken away and put in a room with nice soft walls. Will can play all manners of plumbing, those with valves (some with as many as 4!) and those without. He has been seen holding a suspicious looking black stick with holes in made from mahogany, but nobody who heard it survived to tell you what sort of noise it made. So far Will's playing has received such critical acclaim as: "It didn't sound as bad as I thought it would." and "ssssh".Will can be found in coffee shops/restaurants/pubs near to whichever venues the show is at around 7pm and 10.15ish. www.chittythemusical.co.uk.

I'd like to meet:

could be easily mis-read as "Who I'd like to Eat".

Music:

loads and loads of it. loving anything that comes out the end of jon shenoy's saxophone (astro belts: quite likely) and clarinet (klezmer christmas carols, it's the way forward), into lots of classical stuff, lots of contemporary music too... have a listen to the barry guy gig at the huddersfield contemporary music festival on bbc.co.uk/radio3, amazing stuff! never heard anybody make a bass sound quite like that! on me ipod: beady belle gets played a lot (produced by bugge wesseltoft, well worth checking out), chris potter, oliver nelson, 4hero, tower of power, tom ryder-smith's smooth ryder driving mix (essential for those long journeys to and from london), gilles peterson, erykah badu, martin taylor, loads and loads of classical stuff, montiverdi to fujikura, bach, mahler, r. strauss, bartok, schoenberg, takemitsu, brahms, haydn, mozart, loads more... musical theatre stuff too (for work). what else can i write here that sounds suitably pretentiuous?

Books:

kurt vonnegut... genius, terry pratchett, philip. k. dick, books people buy me because they think i should read them. i do get plenty of time to get through some literature at work, so i'm slowly but surely getting there...

Heroes:

my big sis (isn't that sweet)... much inspiration given all round, plus she taught me to hold a trumpet then hit me in the face with a pint glass some years later ruining a natural talent. My modelling career was over.
