About Me

Profile Edited by
Craig Mauro is a lover, dreamer, and believer in the ultimate good in this world, which thrives through his music and his life. Cm1 Records is a creation, that signifies a love of music and an unrelenting passion to be what one is meant to be. Craig was never one to want to be the best production company or best songwriter or even the best dj ever, Craig’s focus has always been to be successful in each area and to enjoy the music. He learned at a later age than others that dance music is a lifestyle, commitment, and belief that life in general is suppose to be a beautiful place and one that consists of a universal party.
Craig initially found his love of music from the meaning of words and melodies in a song, which eventually developed into his own style of writing. He believes that if people cannot relate to the words of a song along with that certain feeling that it is suppose to express, than the connection between your audience and music cannot be made. Craig’s music is for the people and for the love of the music in the studio, club and arena environment. Cm1 Records isn’t about fitting in or about being trendy, it’s about exploring the unknown, and what makes Craig live. Cm1’s music is its own brand, it doesn’t stem the sharpest of samples or the highest quality in masters, it simply entails a breed between his first love rock and his second love dance music.
Cm1 Records is determined to be known worldwide and to be loved for who they are, than to be loved for who they are not. From there music made Craig, he felt the need to not only produce and be a songwriter but also be a accomplished disc jockey, in which mixing beats at a certain tempo was a whole new world. Craig found love in creating one huge song, by mixing 10 small songs together, to actually listen and hear songs come in and out on the same beat was amazing, he remembers his first perfect mix clearly as to be almost magical, one that made him wear a smile on his face all day. People ask him where he gets his ideas and love from, and he simply says, from God and his experiences in life.
Many songs came from this musical journey, singles grew to albums, and from albums then came mixed cds. Craig believes that music is music, but when you brand it your own, that’s what makes it special. Dance music is a universal sound that simply starts with a kick drum and ends with a kick drum and that to him, makes sense when most things in life don’t. Craig has always been about taking everyday good people and making them stars together, he believes that making music with a great singer or producer is easy, but taking the challenge on of making something beautiful with someone that has never been given a chance in life is what he is about. He is a relentless goal seeker and people person. Someone who loves conversation, and loves to relate with others on most things in life not just music.
Deep down inside music is all Craig knows, from playing on a record player at his Grandma’s house at age 7 to playing on techniques live at age 29, Craig has never lost his lust for what is his love, his passion, and his lifeline to being free. Craig can either be found at his Cm1’s studio in the Bronx, or at his studio on the upper east side of Nyc. Craig has always been strong at heart and believes in the greatest good and outcome is created by helping and giving everyone he works with total freedom to be who they are and never holding them back from what there heart desires them to be. Craig’s music success simply comes from one rule; treat others as you would want to be treated in the studio.
